Can we not do this please. Iv'e seen these on youtube and it's cringey. It's just a $20 ticket ffs. Lets let Brandon go out through the kindness of his heart and slip a ticket to someone he thinks would be interested.

Actually I'd like to see that on video (it it means what I think you mean).

To someone on Vivian St?

Hey guys, so I went ahead and rang Ronald McDonald House in Wellington.

They love the idea of being able to give a family a day out to the game and are going to talk with the staff about who they might suggest would like to get out to come watch the phoenix, then they will get back to me. We are going to try for the game this Sunday against the Jets.

I am quite happy to pay for this myself, but if others want to help let me know and can organise something. I hope the YF Elite don't mind that I used the Yellowfever name for this.

I'm not sure what will happen about transport, hopefully it'll just be tickets to the game. Might be nice if we can get a Yellow Fever tee shirt for the child also? or a hat or something?

I must admit I'm excited about this, as have had family in Ronald McDonald House and they are an amazing organisation.

Great stuff Matt.

Huge ^5.

Maybe create a www.givealittle.co.nz fund so people can contribute.

Upside - it is free (Spark underwrite and operate it as a community service)

Downside -  they pay out at the end of each month - which means (at least initially) the organiser has to carry the burden in bridging finance, but since you say you don't mind paying for it you were up for that any way - this way if people want to contribute (even from around the country and overseas) can can easily do so.

Thanks very much guys, really happy about doing this. Cheers for the advise BWTCF I have set up a page if anyone wants to help out, I can cover costs and till what ever money comes in.

I thought first the money will go towards the tickets, then if I raise enough I'll get some gear for the family.

You (or someone from YF exec) should contact the club and see if you can get a deal on the tickets or free nix merch for them.

Love the RMH idea though. Do we really need to get the club behind it though? We've already raised enough within the first hour. Wouldn't it be better to have something like this that we can do by ourselves?

I understand and have some sympathy for this sentiment. However it is not intended to be a one off for this home game, it is intended to be ongoing... and shirts etc. could get quite expensive. If the club can come to the party and help with merchandise etc. that would really help make it affordable to make it keep happening over and over again.

I see a family pass is $49 we should aim to send a family from the Ronald McDonald house to each home game.  My mate tipped some ice over his head a few weeks ago apparently that means I have to donate some money somewhere so this might just be it!

Yeah I understand, and I'm really keen for this to be a regular thing, and I will get behind it every week as long as the bank account isn't running on empty. If the club wants to throw in some merch every week that would be great, then we can collectively buy a family pass for $50 and it can be sustainable and achieved each home match, but if the club provides the tickets as well then it kinda becomes a club run thing and removes us from the situation.

Don't get me wrong, I think it would be great to get as many deserving families to a match but I also think that it would be great for us to get this going as a Supporters group. Personally I get a real kick out of knowing that I'm helping to get a family to a game.

EDIT: in response to BWTCF Forgot to quote you.

Thanks heaps guys, I have started this as a once off for the upcoming game. But agree if this works it would be really nice for it to be on going.

Guess we can see how it goes and if it works well, maybe contact the club and try and get them on board with the idea as well.

Thank you already to everyone that has donated.

This is so awesome! I can't believe I got the $100 so quickly. If it keeps going up I will either use it for nicer merchandise or maybe we can save it for another family for another home game? What do people think?

Also should I get tickets in the Family Zone or pay a bit more and get them in Gold zone. Thought Family might be better idea and gives a bit more money towards Merchandise.

I wouldn't rely on there being ongoing support so I would say try and stretch it to as many weeks of tickets as possible.

Family zone I think. Family pass in the Family Zone.

Wish I hadn't set the goal so low then... Makes it look like it is done!

But good advice, any extra will get used towards more family tickets for more weeks instead that will go to families from RMHW

I don't know, I reckon there's enough that will contribute regularly. I'll put in a tenner each match.

Just making the page clickable... Please keep donating if you want too, extra money will be used towards more family passes at more games. So even though goal says reached, that is my mistake for setting it too low and any extra money donated will be used!

Tweet the players and try and get them involved! How cool would it be if some of them made the effort before or after each home game to sign a shirt for the family or even donate a small amount to the cause

Direct message them, instead o tweeting them. If it is a public tweet you have no control over people replying - might end up being pressurising, whereas a direct message can be done privately and discretely. If they want to be involved, great, if not that's okay too.

None of them follow me, so don't believe I can direct message them. But this is something might look at to see if we can get something signed for the family that we do end up getting to the game.

I wish I had a job so I could jump on board with this. As soon as I'm employed in any fashion count me in.

As an aside would Ticketek be able to give a season ticket holder paper tickets for each game? If so, and if enough money was raised a family season ticket in the family zone could be got for $400ish. That would eliminate the need for people to commit to every week. Surely there would be 40 folks here that would kick in $10+ each for an entire seasons worth of these tickets?

I like how this is quite simple, by not involving clubs or players etc we're just gathering up as much as we can and hopefully making someones day.

How many home games in Wellington are there left?  10? 11?  That would mean we need $500ish to get a family along to every home game for the rest of the season.  I reckon we can do it.

Im in the why involve the club camp. Why cant we just keep it as a yellow fever thing,we could give them our own gear or a scarf. The club has their own charity things they do.If it needs topping up at any stage im sure Boycie wouldnt mind us whipping the hat around   on a game day.

We can see how we go for money but it might be easier a family pass per home game. The other side is they may not have enough that people for a family could come to every home game and also might be harder when we move out to the Hutt for 3 games.

I like the idea that it is Yellow Fever that is doing this, so the gear I will buy would be the Yellow Fever scarf and Tees

If RMH house dont have a family they could suggest im sure one of the other kids charities might be able to suggest something.Im sure we could cover this for a season.Wonder if we could somehow contact the stadium and get them to chip with some hot chips and a drink make it a game day experience for them. With 145$ so far dosnt that cover 2 home games.

True, there will be always some family who can use it

I will contact Westpac about donating vouchers for food and drink,
