Didn't know where else to put this.

Owen Parker Price and Harry Edge started in a 4-0 loss v Gauthiod.

Division 2, Norra Götaland. One of 6 regional leagues at the Division 2 level. League info below

With no less than 6 regional sub leagues - so won't be a great standard.

Though Declan himself has said Torslanda has ambitions for promotion up the various Swedish divisions.

Maybe just not this season!

Francis De Vries and Tyler Lissette a division up (Division 1 or 3rd tier).

Very interested in seeing where McCowatt and Just end up.

Hopefully somewhere a little higher than the Swedish 4th tier...

I don’t understand that move. Sounds like a bit of adventure, but is Swedish 4th a stepping stone to anything in football?

Does Sweden needs some obscure NZ football academy to move them forward?

According to the Ole puppets these kids are too good for the Phoenix and they want a real challenge such as The Turnip 4th Division.

A great pathway to Barcelona.

Sweden is in Europe so who knows. Still nearly all the Kiwis who have gone to the lower Scandi leagues, have stayed there or come back to NZ (Stevens).

Nikko Boxall is one guy you could agrue has 'progressed' from there. Esp if if Viborg get promoted to the Danish top flight.

I think Declan mentioned some other smaller Swedish club that had done something similar (ie linked up with a non Swedish coach/academy), it had been a success, and that club had progressed through the leagues and were now in Swedish top flight??

This is the other Swedish club, Declan was referring to.

Sounds like they have a partnership with Nike Football Academy, that's helped them go up through the ranks in Sweden.

Currently 10th in the Swedish top flight, with an English coach, and heap of English players - assume through the Nike Academy connection.

No one at Ole has ever said these kids are too good for the Phoenix.

Torslanda lose 1-3 to Grebbestad, and now sit bottom of 14 after 4. Harry Edge the only kiwi to start I think.

No player signing announcements so presumably a few lads are on trial elsewhere at this stage. Declan made a comment about PSV implying there was a kiwi other than Ryan Thomas there. Speculation, but Eli U19s perhaps?
