The Fever Cup! 2nd Leg - Saturday 21st 4:00pm- Boyd Wilson Park

Back in February this year a handful of Auckland based Nix supporters and Wellington based supporters played a game of football at Bill McKinlay Park before the Phoenix faced Perth Glory at Eden Park.

It was so much fun we've decided to do it again, and make a competition of it.

The Fever Cup is an annual competition between Auckland and Wellington, the 1st leg held on the weekend of the Eden Park match, and the 2nd leg held on the weekend of the 12 Pubs of Lochhead :)

The club were looking at getting involved until the fixture list got shuffled about, but have indicated that they could be interested in getting involved in future Fever Cup matchups.

Come be a part of history and get in on the inaugural Fever Cup this weekend!

The winners of the competition will hold a white plastic replica of the A-League trophy

Would have been cool to have the Auckland Team in blue and the Wellington team in Yellow.

But short notice so I'll bring down the kit bag for my Sunday team.

Which happens to be a fearsome Red away kit

C'mon you Super-Jaffas!

Edit: The game is played on turf, so no screw in sprigs.  Otherwise BYO shorts, socks and shinpads.  Good idea to bring a drink bottle, those artificial turfs get really hot in the sun.

So keen for this.

Let's go with Retro Ricki's (or any other Fever t-shirt) for the Wellington side.

He's not available. I'm happy to do it if you can't find anyone else.

I'm also happy to do it. Would mean you can be a brick wall in front of goal 2B.

Top Tip: Ensure to recruit any passing Spaniards, as they turn out to be Messi in disguise, and are much better at football than two hungover Fever nerds.

Your Spanish would come in handy once again when communicating with the aucklanders.

DEFO keen.

Hard news can vouch for my worth to the team.

I think the Wellington team are ok for numbers, but I'll double check with Stephen tomorrow.

The Auckland team currently has between 6-8 players so if you've got boots, socks, shinpads and are keen for a run let me know :)

Does Max have boots.

Fever kit used to be Fever tee, white shorts and white socks.  I'd advocate a retrun to this.

How's my driving? - Whine here

I and probably one other would be keen to play for Ak.

Hi

I organised the Wellington squad in the Bencher at the start of the season.  Just waiting on the last few to confirm they are available, if there's any spots left will let you know Stefan and The Profs

Cheers

Yeah could be a go for future comps, if there's a home/regional game in Christchurch or Napier etc.
Still early days.

......Fever Cup AllStars v Juventus at the Caketin
Welnix/FFA, make it happen.

With that kind of experience you could represent NZ in an intercontinental playoff!

Have boots?

We may have found our very own Jeremy Christie :)
