Yep, it's the playing football at what your body thinks is 1:30am that is a real issue.  Body clock effects of that are massive

Honestly, flying out on Monday for a Friday night game is as much time as we've ever had on the ground to prepare. Sure beats getting there on Wednesday night for a Friday kick off.

I feel like we did this once before and got absolutely smashed. Can anyone else recall? Might have been with Rudan? 5-0?

Anyway, thought we were a bit unlucky last game against them - no reason we can't win this. They did look very good against MV at times (even without Castro)

Possibly the 3-0 or the 5-0 reverses we suffered over there last season?

3-0 we had a backline that consisted of Doyle, Fox & Lowry after injuries or illness to Dura and Taylor.... and iirc Williams hit the bar/post in the first minute, and was then all downhill after that.

5-0 we'd already qualified for the finals and Rudan gave the regular starters a week off before the trip to Melbourne. Was very much a 2nd string XI.

I'm hoping for a more favourable result come Friday!

Didn't realize Ikonomidis had done his knee... Shame, such an exciting player.
Still they are still better than us on paper. Hope we grind out a result!

Poppa said Castro has been playing through a niggly injury for a while. I'm picking they were rested him last week with Asian champions league games coming up. Now that there next champions league game has been postponed. I expect he will play tonight.

Are they really? Looking at the potential two starting squads in Perth's formation. Marinovic over Reddy, Libby over Meredith, Davila instead of Chianese, Devlin instead of Brimmer and Taylor in place of at least one CB. There's also a good argument that Davila and Piscopo sitting behind Fornaroli instead of Chianese and Castro would be stronger based on current form. So thats either 5 or 6 of the combined starting 11 from the Nix. Steinman would be the first named outfield player on the bench that would then be filled with Perth players though.

On paper Hooper is better than Fornarolli, form and paper are different things though.

Exactly. I think they're firmly the favorites in this contest - and let's not forget they have the home advantage.

Still, I think we have the personnel to go and do a job.

Whether or not we do, I'll find out around 6.30am tomorrow morning when I wake up and watch the replay of the game..

Perth have a very good defence, but Reddy doen't get tested that often. If we take our chances tonight then we could win this one, because I don't think we will get alot of chances. A bit of Davilla,s magic, a killer through ball from Piscopo, a moment of brilliance from Ball or Hooper.

It's not like they are a Brisbane or Newcastle quality.

I've followed the Kingz, Knights, Phoenix and don't think I've missed staying up to watch an away game vs Perth ever, as I'm a night person and love the anticipation and staying up late. I can assure you that we will not win and >$2 for Perth is amazing value, the anticipation is always better than the shark we serve up in this fixture. Still betting on Phoenix at $4 but feel like it's burning money.

(... If my posts now are bad they are going to be shark loads worse at midnight seeing as I'm already down a bottle of wine.)
