Think it was actually aimed at the FFA because of Jacob Burns' farcical red card and ensuing suspension.

That's even more ridiculous.

Did it get TV time?

Excellent banner and a very respectful crowd too. Although I'd have liked a minutes worth of applause after the minute of silence. WEhy? To acknowledge his contribution in helping get Wellington a team in the A League. That surely has to be applauded.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Every mention I read indicated a minutes applause, was surprised it was silence

I didn't fancy a stadium life ban for taking somebody's head off with my flag so a deliberate decision was taken not to fly it due to the wind....!

Subject to conditions, it will be at the Tards game though, and I have permission to take it into Suncorp next weekend! :-D

bought my one in but almost flew away with it when it was up for 10 seconds.

Not like when the All Whites play then?

"At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive...

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...

Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...

Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

I only said it in jest. We most certainly don't need those type of dickheads involved in the Nix. The WRFU might need them to increase their attendees though.

Great banner from the Basel fans in the Liverpool vs. Basel game on Sommet Sports just now:

"The Drug Is Football"

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

I took my flag to CCM last year - no problems at all. I'll try and dig out the name of the lady at the club who helped but it was via the info@ccmariners.com.au email address at first.

Basically the process is get the flag / banner approved in advance with the club (send a photo), they will clear it with the ground, then you drop the flag / banner at the ground a few hours before kickoff. The club stewards will make sure it's safe and in the right area of the ground for you before kick off.

I'm guessing they won't let me get away with a "F**k the Mariners, Wee Mac is ours?" banner then?
