Rumours going around that they have to quarantine for two weeks (expected) and can't train during that time (very unexpected). If the latter is true it's surely the final nail in the coffin for the season.

Believe players with residences in OG lockdown postcodes that didn't attempt to travel to travel with the sides last night have received exemptions and are travelling with everyone else.
Surely they now need to quarantine or like you said they are putting the whole A league comp at risk of being cancelled. Especially when you consider that the Nix had to quartine for 14 days even tho they were coming from a covid free area.

They had been led to believe that a partial exemption had been granted and that if they based themselves in Canberra for a few days, trained and maintained fitness there the full exemption would be granted and they could then move to the hub in NSW.
But that was before they were told by ACT officials that they would have to spend a fortnight in quarantine.
Give them forfeits. 3-0 losses for every game they don't play. Continue the season without them.

NSW deputy premier John Barilaro on Tuesday gave every indication that the clubs would get the exemptions they are seeking.
"I think we have got to work with the FFA and I will be reaching out to the FFA and seeing what support they need," he told SBS.
"If we have got an opportunity to do so let's bring them [the Victorian clubs] across the border, let's park them in the regions or in the city and make sure they are part of the A-League that kicks off shortly."

Regardless, you had to be a blind imbecile not to see this coming - Queensland closed their border to Vic this time last week and it should have been obvious then that the closure of border with NSW was a distinct possibility and the FFA should have told the three teams to move to NSW then and none of this would have been an issue. As Ballane said, all the other sporting codes in Victoria read the situation correctly and got out of state smartly, only the A-league clubs sat on their arse until the border closure practically smacked them in the face.

I believe the planned flight to Canberra was because there are additional restrictions on how many people can fly into NSW at present, so the plan was to get as close as possible and bus the rest of the way.

Fox Sports understands both Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory will fly into Sydney at 10am on Friday, pending NSW government exemptions, before likely going into a mandatory quarantine for 14 days.
The rival camps will share budget accommodation and sleep in bunkbeds at a training base on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
While it poses significant challenges for schedule makers, the A-League remains hopeful the season can still resume on July 16 as originally planned if things fall their way.
Both clubs will train and be housed at the Sports Academy in Narrabeen, with players likely staying in bunk beds given the facility’s rudimentary set-up.
The Sports Academy is the same venue where NRL club the Manly Sea Eagles train.
It has been a mad and often farcical scramble for Victoria’s three clubs to cross the border into NSW over the past week, with two flights into Canberra scrapped at the last moment.
After the NSW government announced it was shutting borders to Victoria from Tuesday midnight and Monday midnight for Melbourne residents, Victoria’s three clubs booked a late flight to Canberra only for low visibility in the nation’s capital to see the trip scuppered on Monday.
The following night another trip to Canberra was cancelled after the ACT government informed them they would need to quarantine for 14 days without training if they touched down in the nation’s capital.

I doubt it, surely they will only rearrange as few fixtures as possible. Although of course we know that Nix fixtures can be reschedded for minimal reason, bu they are playing Sydney, so that should be some protection.

Covicd scare in the Victory camp. Re-rescheduled draw out on Tuesday and the season will be pushed out 6 days, so I guess the Grand Final is now gonna be the 29th August?
With all the other clubs in the league losing players - and starters at that - our chances of winning the league keep getting better. If we manage to finish our final 6 games and take max points from 4 of them (I'm hoping for a draw against Sydney and maybe against Perth) we could finish on 50 points, which should seal second for us. It looks like Sydney are the only other team who have avoided any significant player losses at this stage.
