Would seem to me that if the A-League can get more muscle it would be good for the Nix, especially if Rob and the club are appreciated by the other teams/owners - more so than the Nix are within the current FFA setup.

I assume one of the owners like Henry or Rob as back office staff have stuff for the upcoming season to get ready for

Henry was at the logo launch this morning

A compromise solution for FFA Governance of an interim 15 member 9-5-1 Congress (nine votes for the state federations, five for the clubs and one for the players) to replace current 13 member 9-3-1 Congress ruled unconstitutional by FIFA, is rejected as Lowry bullies federations under exisiting setup

FIFA coming again Arise Sir Tony P

AAP understands the world governing body has identified and approached at least one prospective member in recent weeks for the temporary panel that could replace FFA chairman Steven Lowy and his board.

The person is Australian, going some way to allaying fears FIFA could put overseas administrators in charge with no knowledge of the sport’s domestic intricacies and issues.

WHAT FFA WANTS

A 13-member congress offering two additional votes to the clubs (one for W-League) and one for the players via the union. This so-called 9-3-1 model has been rejected by both the clubs and FIFA.

WHAT STAKEHOLDERS WANT

A-League clubs: 9-6-2, or 9-5-2 at a minimum. This would give them a voting share of more than 25 per cent and the ability to influence votes.

Players' union: Same as the clubs. Professional Footballers Australia is demanding two seats - one for men and one for women.

State member federations: Divided. Seven states are aligned with FFA. The largest, Football NSW, is with the clubs and PFA. Football Federation Victoria's position is less clear, having switched sides to conditionally support the 9-3-1 model.

NPL clubs: The newly formed Association of Australian Football Clubs is campaigning for a seat at the table and a national second tier, among other things.

As Lowry was the  one who scuttled the agreement of all stakeholders (Rumour)

deadline-set-friday - Published 25/9/17

Adelaide United chairman Greg Griffin - who also heads the Australian Professional Football Clubs Association - reiterated his opposition on Wednesday.

"The position of the state federations represents one third of the stakeholders that FIFA and AFC have required to reach consensus," Griffin told AAP.

"The clubs and the PFA do not accept the 9-4-1-1 congress vote that the federations are putting forward which is designed to ensure that they remain in control of the electoral process for board positions on the FFA.

"All we have here is the federations, which already have a completely unreasonable amount of control of the congress, putting a proposal that maintains that position which offends FIFA statutes.

"If that proposal is put forward by Mr Lowy at an EGM of the FFA, then it will breach the directions of FIFA and AFC and inevitably lead to the appointment of a normalisation committee."

Victory Boss Slams ????

He also called for A-League clubs to have more of an involvement and was adamant they would fight to have more jurisdiction.

"How embarrassing then that the principal in world football - FIFA could be called in to sort out our classroom," he said.

Lowy = 9-4-(1.1)

Pretty interesting hearing from Dome on the pod about the Phoenix involvement in all this, Rob Morrison is one of three representatives of the teams involved in the negotiations. If things go a head as they seem to be then this closeness with the teams will be great for our future but you have to worry about any repercussions from the FFA seeing how precarious our position is.

this has to be our survival tactic, wrestle control off the FFA and have certainty the clubs will keep us in. No club owner wouls support having their membership at the whim of FFA

30 November D Day - Will Lowy get his way?

Still looking to get FFA the majority vote:

The resolution would increase the Congress membership from 10 to 21.

The 21 Members would include the nine Member Federations, the nine Australian Hyundai A-League clubs (sharing four votes between them, up from one vote) and for the first time, Professional Footballers Australia (one vote), a representative of professional women’s football (one vote) and a representative for women’s football at the community level (one vote).

The Worlds Game SBS take on it

Correct but we get a voice through the 4 votes  while we are in the A-League

The other A League clubs want us around though. We aren't cannibalising any of their markets, and because of our exemption for kiwis as locals we don't dilute the player pool as much as an additional Aussie team in our place would. WelNix are also stable, secure owners and having that stability and security in the league increases the value of their investment too.

Yeah, it will probably be four for the A-League club association of which the Phoenix are a member (and from the interview with Dome on Phoenix City a few months ago are quite influential.)

Think the concerns of FIFA will not be satisfied if FFA get their version of the congress through on the 30th.

21 members

9 for Federations

4 for A-league

1 for PFA

1 for W-League (possibly appointed by FFA)

1 for womens football (possibly appointed by FFA)

leaving FFA 5

If I read correctly

It is very quiet on the Western Front. All media have not published any update on progress pre FFA AGM with under 7 days to go

Is it the calm before the storm and Lowy/Gallop have the numbers.

Or is the AGM going to be explosive or implosive. With FIFA hiding in the wings.

(This meeting could hold the key to the Nix future - Hence my interest)

Fortuitously media attention over here has been drawn away from FFA congress and FIFA normalising committee by Ange walking and ballboy shenanigans in the cup final. Normal angst will resume shortly no doubt. Massive implications for football in this part of the world, and by implication Nix and even NZ football.
