Surely you don't think 18 degrees is hot?

Were you at the game??

I was not at the game but just making a point that I think 18 is not hot.

Congratulations Cashmere Tech, what a remarkable achievement wining back to back finals. The first final I saw was at QE2 park in 1987, ChCh United against Steve Sumner's Gisborne City; the second was last year at ASB English Park, Cashmere Tech against Waitakere.

I hope I don't have to wait another 26 years for the next Chatham cup final in ChCh

No generally 18 isn't hot. But it was in that stadium felt like a good old summers day. And I was extremely hung over

Fuck some of you lot will moan/argue about anything.

Was a good day. I'm glad I flew up for it.

What else are forums for? Lets not get hysterical, but nobody must moan unless that moan has first passed the "its worth moaning about" test from Smithy.

Ha. That would be a good test.

However, the over-abundance of sunshine would surely fail even the Shushy6 "the world is out to get me" test as a thing to moan about?

No test required. I know exactly where the sun shines out of.

Great story Enzo. Logistics would make it hard, but be good to follow B Beach and then whoever knocks them out, and so on

So I accepted this challenge for both the Chatham Cup and the Women's Knockout Cup from the opening rounds right through. For anyone interested, here's the full anthology including my report and pics from the final with links to all the posts from along the road to getting there...

Some interesting observations. I am not exactly neutral but happy to concede that the last 20 minutes were a bit of a nail biter.

Not the greatest game, how many finals are?  The ground looked very soft and not very level (2nd Game).

Overall though more than happy that CT were able to hold on with a well organised and disciplined defence. Mr Tade is certainly very useful and scored a peach of a goal. Certainly not seen the Shwartz brothers turned like that before, glad they made up for it afterwards with excellent games.

Overall I thought CT were the better team without the ball and in the end did enough with it to deserve the win.

Happy that Stu got POD but it could have gone to AC, Terris or Danny Knight all were very effective. Smashing to see Terris get the winner, spends a lot of time at the back post for set plays and has been a great servant for Sth. Island football.

Well done to those neutrals who travelled, real football fans one and all.

See you at next years final !!!
