Sundowns lose 1-0 in CCL to Wyad Casablanca in Morocco.

No passport stamp for Brockie, but Tade gets 35 mins off the bench.

Was 0-0 when he came on.

Reminds of that time Adam Kwasnick was on my flight to Wellington and I was the first to know he was signing for us ?

In a huge game Sundowns (1st & 44 pts) draw 0-0 at Orlando Pirates (3rd & 41 pts). Crowd 32,000

Tade gets 68 mins and a yellow.

Brockie remains on the outer.

6 PSL rounds to go.

Interesting how this thread has basically become all about Tade!
Shame for Brocks, he's been there 1.5 seasons and never really broke into the team. I get the feeling he was recruited simply to take him off his former club...

That's certainly what this former player thinks.

What next for Brocks then? Where is his next move

Flying Kiwis states he’s linked to a move to Bidvest Wits who I think are based around Joburg or Pretoria still. So no big move for the family.

Maybe he’ll do a Smeltz and be off to somewhere like Malaysia or Indonesia.

Or he could wait it out as he reported is earning good coin, then move elsewhere in SA or Asia.

The pseudo Tade thread. The ex ACFC man stays on the bench as Sundowns thrash Al Ahly (Egypt) 5-0 in CAF Champions League.

No Brocks.

Sundowns lose 2nd leg away in Egypt 1-0 to Al Ahly.

5-1 win on aggregate. Tade on the bench

Sundowns have drawn Wyad Casablanca in their CAF semi final. Split their games in earlier pool stages.

In a nice surprise Brockie gets 25 mins off the bench, as Sundowns lose 0-2 at home to his old team SuperSport.

Already down a goal when he was subbed on.

Tade had been earlier replaced at 64 mins.

Sundowns now 6 points behind Orlando Pirates, but do have 2 games in hand.

PSL title will be going down to the wire.

Both Brockie & Tade on the bench as Sundowns beat Baroka 2-1.

Was almost a must win game for Mamelodi. Baroka with their own battle to avoid relegation. So maybe a bit of feeling with a Baroka player sent off at 75 mins.

Sundowns are now 3 points behind Orlando Pirates with a game in hand. They have catch up home game on Wednesday verus league strugglers Chippa United.

No Brockie, but Tade on the bench as Sundowns beat Chippa United 3-2 to go equal on points (50) with Orlando Pirates.

Both teams have 3 games left, so PSL title is shaping as a cliffhanger.

Sundowns finish with 5 games in 16 days (incl two Champions League matches with first tie in Morocco). That’s tough.

Just seen an article about the Nix getting Brockie back for next season, and there was even a mention of getting him here for this season but it didn't eventuate. I love the guy, but am not sure he's exactly what we're after?

Could well prove me wrong if it does happen, but I guess it would be highly dependent on who's coming in to manage us next season.

Both Tade & Brockie on the bench as Sundowns grab a crucial 2-1 away win at Black Leopards.

Tade gets 15 mins off the bench when Mamelodi already 2-0 up.

Sundowns now equal on points with Orlando Pirates (Pirates better GD) with two PSL rounds left.

Sundowns dreams of the double over.

Draw 0-0 in 2nd leg against Wyad Casablanca, CAF Champions League. Lose 2-1 on aggregate.

Tade an unused sub and no Brockie in match day squad.

In PSL Orlando Pirates dropped points with a 2-2 draw. Sundowns can go top if win midweek against Golden Arrows.

20 mins off the bench as Sundowns beat Golden Arrows 2-0 in PSL.

They were up 2-0 after 6 mins.

No Tade in match day squad.

Sundowns go top 2 pts ahead of Orlando Pirates with one round left.

Last round Pirates host Polokwane City, who have nothing to play for.

Sundowns travel to Free State Stars who are in relegation danger.

At moment Pirates have better GD, if the two finish equal on points.

Legend

Sundowns beat Free State Stars away 1-0 to clinch PSL title.

Plenty of feeling with 8 yellows in the match as the Stars unsuccessfully battled to avoid relegation.

Sundowns had to win, as otherwise would have been tied on points with Pirates (3-0 winners in their last game), and would have lost title to them on GD.

Brockie on the bench but no Tade in match day squad. Brockie gets his 2nd winners medal.

Bit player in both campaigns.

Sundowns will have another CAF Champions League schedule to juggle next season with the PSL - so may keep both Brockie and Tade as ‘squaddies’. I guess if they paid well, and with both in their 30’s near the end of their careers - they could be happy with that sort of role. Esp Tade who’s mostly been an ‘amateur’ until now.

From this week's Flying Kiwis.

"This one’s taking its time to unfold but it’s still most likely that Jeremy Brockie is playing his football away from Mamelodi Sundowns next season having completely fallen out of the picture there and more likely than not he’ll end up at another South African club. Kaizer Chiefs have been steadily linked to him for a couple months now. Here’s the bloke’s agent doing the rounds…

Mike Makaab: “Sundowns are a very reasonable club and they understand that Jeremy needs to be playing regularly. I don’t think the figure will be that high, in fact it wasn’t even close to that amount in the beginning. But I can tell you that it has dropped because we need to find a solution for the player. But it is likely that Jeremy will not be playing for Sundowns when the new season starts (in August). We are working on it, but this one is a little more complex and will take time.”

Makaab also admits to something that Brockie himself has said which is that reports of the ten millions rands he cost in his transfer fee from SuperSport to Sundowns are greatly exaggerated. Which in this case means that his current club are unlikely to want to hold out for any similar level of fee, which is handy. Brockie has one more year on his Sundowns contract while the club have an option to extend beyond that which there’s zero percent chance they’ll want to do. Makaab also had a lot to say about Brockie’s potential destinations and his status at Sundowns…

Mike Makaab: “Kaizer Chiefs have not shown the interest that the media is talking about. I don’t know where that comes from. Those are just rumours. There are clubs that are interested in him locally but we also have clubs outside the country, especially in Europe so we’ll be looking at all the opportunities for Jeremy. He is (still) a Sundowns player and he will start pre-season training with them. Obviously, we’ll work hard to make sure that we find a solution for both the club and Jeremy. But if that solution doesn’t suit Jeremy, he will stay at Sundowns.”

“We have to understand the fact that if the technical team says that his style of play doesn’t suit the club, we have to respect that and try and find a solution but as we stand he is a Sundowns player, he is a professional and he will fulfil his duties and obligations at the club. They haven’t made it clear that he is not part of their plans for the new season, but they have indicated their style of play doesn’t suit Jeremy’s strengths. Jeremy is a goalscorer. For two seasons, he was a highest goalscorer in South Africa by far. Good football players don’t become bad overnight, particularly players who score goals. If he can bang in one or two goals, he could end up scoring 15 goals but for that to happen, he has to be given a real opportunity. Not 30 minutes.”

Chances are this is old mate trying to firm up those Kaizer Chiefs rumours into something substantial, especially with the chat that Brockie is fine continuing on with Sundowns if he has to. Which doesn’t make a lot of competitive sense for Brockie or the club but whatever gets the Chiefs into motion, you know. Interesting to hear there’s interest from Europe too… wonder how serious that is and whether Brockie would entertain it. He’s pretty comfortable in South Africa, tbh.

Up Next: Largely up to Mr Agent then, ain’t it?"

I'm probably mistaken, but I'm pretty sure he'd mentioned something about seeing out his playing days over there?

Seems very family oriented which is fair enough, and his children will likely be in good schools over there too so makes a bit of sense for him to try and find something in South Africa. I'd hate to see him sit on his contract until it expires so hopefully a decent move is in the offing.

In Flying Kiwis was mention that I think Kaizer Chiefs are possibly interested in buying Brockie. Still a year to run on his Sundowns contract, but seems completely out of favour there.

He was never gonna be allowed to move to a top team, Sundowns don't want the competition. Would have liked to have seen him back at the Nix but he seems rather settled in SA, so hopefully this works out well for him.

It's 500km from Pretoria (where I think he & his family have been living the last few years) to Pietermaritzburg, not a huge distance by South African standards and if I remember a 3 lane highway all the way.

People living on the veldt are well used to driving down to Natal for their summer holidays.

He'll be teaming up with Dan Morgan & Micah Lea'alafa

72 mins in a 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Chippa United.

Missed a pen.

https://twitter.com/MaritzburgUtd

"Brockie is denied by Tignyemb with a good save down low to his right."

Maritzburg up 1-0 when he came off. Their first win of the season.

Dan Morgan played full game.

Micah Lea'alafa came on for the 2nd half, which meant 3 ex Handy Prem players were then on the pitch for Maritzburg.
