Sorry Coochie- Hudson-Odoi with the goal?

Forest with Gibbs-White, Elanga and a better keeper in Sels will be a tough game. Apart from the Blades, there really are no easy games in the EPL.

Right you are.

I reckon if Forest they don't get any major injuries they will stay up. Nuno seems to have them playing well, and in a structure that suits Wood/Awoniyi.

They have a midweek FA Cup replay hosting Bristol City. Win that and it's a R16 tie hosting Man U (who they beat at home in the EPL New Years Eve). Could be 2 Kiwis in the FA Cup R16, if Waine's Plymouth win their replay against Leeds, also this week.

Woodsman out for 7-8 weeks. Bugger for the AWs in March.
Mata and/or Greive likely to get a stay of execution, with Waine to start you'd think.

Forest need pens (5-3) to beat Bristol City in their FA Cup 4th round replay.
1-1 end of NT.  Forest had Matt Turner back in goal.

Forest (16th) host Newcastle (9th). Luckily this time for the Magpies, no Chris Wood to torment them.

Man U prevail 1-0. Nuno won't mind Forest being out of the Cup. It's all about EPL survival. They are 4 pts above the drop zone, but Luton have a game in hand.
Burnely & Sheffield U look toast - both 11 pts behind Forest.

Forest (17th) travel to Brighton (10th)
Reading AV's AWs article today, sounds like Wood may return next Forest game with luck

Wood starting!
Which if you consider the relegation stakes, how well Forest play, but fail to tuck away chances and the form our man was in, Nuno rolls the dice.

Strangely enough he starts with Origi, which may mean no assists from Elanga, who laid on most of that hat trick. Imo Gibbs-White is looking a little tired from carrying Forest, but won’t get a spell tonight. Hopefully the new attack can produce some results.

C’mon Woodsie!

Inconsiderate of Wood and Cacace to be scheduled at the same time. Trying to get both games going! And it’s working. Hopefully this action makes up for a Saturday disappointment.
Edit: Cacace not playing? Late scratching?

Forest were blocking the register of Brighton in 20, but Brighton started to go around them and eventually get a set play goal after building pressure. Forest have picked up a few yellows too. Mostly pressing and stopping passing lanes to do for Wood so far.

Come back into the game a bit. Origi is a confusing selection out wide. Not getting much ball to Wood yet. The keeper almost cleared into him being the most exciting thing that’s happened. There must be some bench movement, but how much will be just making sure his players with yellows are switched I dunno. Elanga and Awoniyi on the bench.
Edit: Elanga on. Game on I reckon, though Brighton clearly the better drilled team. Forest have been better second half without really testing the keeper.

And now an all out Forest attack with  Awoniyi and Hudson-Odoi too. Brighton hanging on at the moment, but nothing too challenging for their defense yet.
Once nice ball in behind to Wood saved and a couple of free kicks hit the keeper.

Huge celebrations on the Brighton bench after having hung on 1-0 and snuck past a team just above the drop. Win by an OG from two attacking sides, and Forest will be no doubt sending in Mark Clattenburg to query the lack of a red card for Moder’s challenge.

Odd one again. Can’t find press about Awoniyi being injured, but he’s not in the squad I’ve seen, with both Origi and Wood starting. This time Elanga is starting too. Not quite sure who will be where or if that source is correct.

Wood comes off at 75 mins. Looks like he was injured (maybe his hamstring again), that could be him out of next weeks all Whites matches.

Finished a 1-1 draw. 3 pt gap maintained.

Forest with winnable games hosting Palace & Fulham after the FIFA break. Doubt they will let Wood go to Egypt if the hammy is dodgy again.

The Kiwi targetman is now on track to record 10 or more goals for the fifth time in a Premier League career stretching back to 2007.

He already has 10 goals in all competitions this season after also scoring once in the FA Cup.

Both fantastic careers - hopefully Wood has another few years at a very high level, then it would be hard to argue against Wood being our best ever (longevity and consistency).

Nelsen is one of my favourite NZ players, he was absolute class.

However, Wood has scored 64 goals now in the Premier League, putting him 77th on the all-time list.

64 premier league goals may not be repeated by a New Zealander, ever again. It's tough enough to get in the Premier League (look at how few Kiwi's have made it), let alone score that many goals.

It's tough to argue against Wood being our best, or at least up there alongside Rufer, with Nelsen slightly behind both.

It was but needs to be put in perspective. He went to university in the states and spent a number of years in MLS before being picked up.

Both class, but Christopher’s longevity probably shades it for me.

Obviously behind Rufer however, winning a bundesliga, domestic cup final and UEFA cup, takes some beating.

Plus Rufer being top scorer in the Champions League '93/94
