True, and Luigi De Canio is the Boss, gregory got the flick. More good news, Naomi Campbell is going to model the new home and away kit.  We're also looking at buying some ground next to the BBC and building a new stadia on it.

The site has been continually updated over the season however there is a major new announcement on there regarding the long awaited new club logo that was hinted at a few months back.

It hasn't even been announced by the club yet, so exclusive to you to see on the site.

After we have just signed a deal of co-operation with Real Madrid too!

But to be honest, the head butter has no coaching experience etc so although it would be nice to have him at the club, I'd rather we stayed with Luigi De Canio who has brought proper football back to Loftus Road and banished "Hoofball".

It's official, the club has launched today the new logo for QPR FC..............

Queens Park Rangers Football Club today unveiled a new Club crest, marking the start of a new era for the W12 based Club.

Officially launched today (Sunday 4th May 2008), the new logo signifies the Club's determination to embrace a new chapter and identity at Loftus Road.

The new Crest combines elements of the Club's heritage and was designed to encapsulate the past, present and future, with the famous Hoops being re-integrated into the official identity.

R's legends from yesteryear joined QPR's current squad and children from the Club's Centre of Excellence on the pitch ahead of kick-off against West Bromwich Albion to unveil the new crest.

Flavio Briatore, Chairman of QPR Holdings Ltd, said: "This is a significant day for Queens Park Rangers Football Club and it was important for the fans to see the new crest first.

"It represents another huge forward step in our aim to re-launch the Club into a global brand - anchored in W12, but giving it a vision for the future.

"I am delighted with the design of the new crest, which maintains the Queens Park Rangers tradition of blue and white hoops. I know how important it is to the fans that the hoops remain, and that was always going to be the case."

Briatore explained the rationale behind the new crest, adding: "This is a period of huge transformation at QPR.

"This new crest is stylish, thrilling and authentic and signifies the start of what we hope will become the most successful period in the Club's history."

Bernie Ecclestone added: "I feel that the new crest that we are launching today really shows we are moving forward as a Club.

"I hope the fans are happy with the current achievements and that the future brings what everyone at the Club is looking forward to."

Amit Bhatia, Vice Chairman of QPR Holdings Ltd, added: "I am really delighted with our new crest.

"It is a fresh, modern and bold design, reflecting the new mood of optimism at Loftus Road, whilst still retaining links to our glorious past.

"The crest compliments the new styles that Lotto Sport Italia have created for the new kit to be unveiled shortly. Redesigning the crest is an additional step in our efforts to give QPR a new identity and in our continual regeneration of the Club as we forge ahead on the road to promotion and beyond."

Gareth Ainsworth, QPR Club Captain, said: "We got to see the crest for the first time a few weeks ago, and I really like it. It has a traditional feel to it, and it's nice that they've managed to incorporate the blue and white hoops. After all, they're synonymous with QPR.

"I have played with the old crest on my shirt for the past five years, and it has been an absolute honour. Now I am looking forward to playing with the new crest on me. Rest assured, I'll have just as much passion.

"The Club is moving forward at an incredible pace, and this new badge is a sign of a new era, and hopefully an era which is going to be hugely successful."

R's legend Paul Parker, who made 125 appearances during a four-year spell in W12, said: "I'm very impressed with the new crest - it successfully embraces the old and the new.

"The historical links are embodied within the design of the crest and the flamboyance and style points towards an exciting future for this great Football Club."

Nothing yet. Personally, I hope it doesn't happen. In De Canio, we have found a real gem of a Manager. Rumour has it, he would become Director of Football which is another title for bugger off.

I hope it doesn't happen.

He did nothing wrong at all. Alledgedly some of the lazy players who could see out of the square were not too keen on the Italian training methods introduced. However I think the big three wanted to get a big name manager in to attracted big name players. The fans grew to really like Gigi, he brought back a style of football that was usually pleasing to watch and attacking. NOT hoofball.

So what's the view on Dowie?  So far, he hasn't managed to stick anywhere very long and generally leaves a club in a worse state than he found them.  Surely the world's richest club could find someone better than that?  Is it me, or does that show an appalling lack of ambition as well as judgement?

Dowie? A dick! Hoofball and relegation specialist. Winner of ugliest manager of the year 4 years running. BIG mistake by the owners.

What a tragedy!! Just as things were looking better for QPR and its fans you get this. Dowie crap football instead of the beautiful game. Thug like defenders will boot the ball up to lone strikers....great not! Why on earth did they get rid of de Canio for a failed re tread manager like Dowie. His record is not promising at all. I thought QPR were going to play their way upwards with good passing football....

Sad.....I wonder what other fans think? Any views from previous clubs??

Rumour has it that in line with the "new QPR" theme by the board, Luigi De Canio wanted to go after some serious contender players but the Billionaires Boys Club didn't want to fork out. Just a rumour. Some say he was homesick after his father passing away, Some say it was some players complained about the new inovative training methods installed. Two Italian trainers have also been let go since LDC went.

What annoyed the fans was that they were happy with him in charge and he brought back a passing fluent style of play, something not seen since Gerry Francis was in charge in the 90's.

Dowie has been reported as wanting to continue the passing game but I'll believe it when I see it. Other than getting Palace promoted (And relegated) he hasn't done that much other than a spell at Oldham.

Currently the fans are spewing at the season ticket price increases. Anywhere from 30 - 200%+ in some cases. One woman has her ticket going up and 3 seats further along in the same area, her father faces a 200 pound increase. no one can fathom it because to be honest facilities for average fans at Loftus Road have been somewhat neglected in the last 25 years. The food stalls, toilets and seats really need replacing and the leg room between the rows of seats is just fin if you're 5'6" or less. Anyone over that gets cramped legs.

Another Billionaire Linking Up With QPR?
-
Daily Mail/Charles Sale - Indian Formula One high roller joins Ecclestone and Briatore's party at Queens Park Rangers

26th May 2008

The Formula One consortium who own Queens Park Rangers are understood to have the most free-spending billionaire in the F1 Monaco paddock as one of their members, confirming the Championship club's status as the richest in the country.

Vijay Mallya, the Indian Kingfisher lager and airline mogul, paid into the QPR pot, according to insiders in his Force India F1 team, as part of the wheeler-dealing that guaranteed him permission to change his GP outfit's name for the fourth time in four years, when regulations allow one alteration in five.

Force India were previously known as Jordan, Midland, and Spyker before Mallya paid 44million for ownership. Certainly the Indian tycoon has his boat moored in the plushest part of the Monaco harbour, in the Loftus Road enclave together with fellow QPR stakeholders Flavio Briatore and Lakshmi Mittal, and Bernie Ecclestone stayed on Briatore's boat.

Mallya has more football experience than his F1 colleagues, owning two Indian teams as well as his GP interest and the 50m Bangalore cricket franchise. In Monaco, he hosted two massive parties on his boat and also splashed out 80,000 on a Chopard watch and 175,000 on a piano owned by Elton John at a charity auction.

QPR are looking at 2 or 3 other italian based players too, all young players around 20 with an eye to the future. At last we don't have to worry about administration. I'd like to see some real hoops playing at places like Old Trafford, Emirates, Anfeild etcv, giove me something to chat to you fellas about. Still at least Tigers can have some fun with you all this season.
