yes Toffeeman, it's been a strange sort of week,

for me it seems to be more nervous than excited and it's only going to get more edgy til kick off

Imagine, if you'd chosen this week to be back in England!

Wayne Brown is doubtful according to some sources, we could really do with him being fit.

aside from that I hope Ashbee has a stormer (and the two local age-defying heroes as well)

Good to see one or two other Tigers fans coming out of the woodwork on here, on various topics!!

cheers Ed,

what a drama ah! absoloutly no chance of getting any tv coverage anywhere, does NZ not realise this is the most important game of sport in the history of sport! haha

From Beverely myself been over here (auckland) a couple of years. Hull fan since the bountiful days of boothferry park.

if you listened carefully in those days you could hear chants from the bottom of division 3 that went "FISH OUT DOLAN OUT" and "DOLAN HOW CAN YOU TAKE YOUR WAGES FOR THIS SH#T, SACK THE BOARD". a far cry from the mighty tiger we see now!

not long now chatting to my mates last night they are getting ready for the bus trip down to wembley with a stella artois breakfast!

tigers2000 - Five Live don't do match coverage over the internet. You should find there is an equivalent of Seagulls World (Brighton) on the Hull official site. All league clubs have this and you can get live radio commentary. I listen to many Brighton games, including all their playoff games in 2004, that way. The only games we don't always get are FA Cup games. There is a cost, but it's not much. I got the Seagulls World season ticket for 35 quid. I believe I get access to all League matches for any club, though I rarely listen to anyone else's matches.

Here you go, the Hull City equivalent of Seagulls World:

You can get a monthly pass for 4 pounds. That will get you live match commentary (don't know who does yours, but the Brighton one is from BBC Southern Counties Radio and is top notch).
You'll also be able to watch highlights of all matches (normally about 4 minutes per match) plus various video interviews.

Good luck

My 'rattle' is at my bedside. I will tune in tonight knowing that my brother (who has never been to a game in his life), my two sons and two grandsons are watching the game at Wembley.
My Australian "Child-Bride" has threatened to stick my rattle where the sun has never shone if it wakes her up. I will willingly put up with the pain!

Full-time::   It is all over, Hull City are promoted!!! Incredible scenes here as Phil Brown's men are overcome by emotion. A terrific strike from Windass that was worthy of winning any game.

Dean Windass struck a stunning first-half volley to fire Hull City into the Premier League as Phil Brown's men secured a 1-0 Championship play-off final victory over Bristol City at Wembley.

Windass, 39, buried the only goal of the game on 38 minutes to ensure The Tigers will play in England's top tier for the first time in their 104-year history.

Saturday's encounter began at a frantic pace, and it was Bristol City who threatened early on with Dele Adebola and Lee Trundle leading the line well.

But Hull broke the deadlock as Fraizer Campbell wriggled his way to the by-line before dinking a tantalising cross into the path of Windass, who dispatched into the corner with aplomb.

Gary Johnson's side rallied for a leveller, penning their opponents back into their own half, but Hull defended resolutely to hang on and send the sea of amber euphoric at their side's promotion.

The opening minutes were littered with mistakes as both sides set off at a frantic pace before Robins striker Adebola had the first sight of goal in the fifth minute.

Threatening start

A free-kick was not properly cleared and after Marvin Elliott flicked the ball back into the area Adebola outmuscled Wayne Brown but failed to get a true connection on his shot and Boaz Myhill saved easily.

Adebola had made a threatening start and created another fine chance for Johnson's side in the 18th minute.

After finding space wide on the right the burly frontman picked out a clever pass to feed the onrushing midfielder Nick Carle.

The Australian side-stepped the challenge of Michael Turner to break into the area but could only toe-poke the shot wide from 15 yards.

Brown's men then found their rhythm and went close when full-back Sam Ricketts played an incisive one-two with Windass and crossed for Richard Garcia to loft a header over Adriano Basso but onto the roof of the net.

Another good early cross from Ricketts was headed over by Windass as the Tigers began to turn the screw before the veteran had his moment of glory.

Nick Barmby led a break from the halfway line and timed his pass through to Campbell perfectly.

The on-loan Manchester United youngster skipped past the challenge of Liam Fontaine before showing great vision to stand the ball up to the edge of the area Windass to beautifully lash past Basso and into the corner.

The game was then held up for over six minutes after the Robins' right-back Bradley Orr suffered a suspected depressed fracture of the cheekbone.

Brilliant block

David Noble had the first effort of the second half but his free-kick was straight at Myhill before Michael McIndoe headed a Jamie McAllister cross wide.

Bristol City were pushing men forward with Hull content to sit back and use the impressive pace of Campbell on the break.

Barmby and Windass were withdrawn by Brown for the pace of Craig Fagan and Caleb Folan before Lee Trundle created a chance all on his own but shot straight at Myhill.

Time was running out for Bristol City to find an equaliser but Trundle had a chance when Myhill fluffed a punch - but the striker's shot was brilliantly blocked by Turner.

Substitute Darren Byfield then headed over as Hull clung on for a famous win which will see Premier League football at the KC Stadium come August.

As a boy growing up I had my 1st Division Team and my 2nd Division team. Now both are in the Premiership - magic. My 1st team were Arsenal but I have found it hard to remain too loyal to them over recent years (hard to explain, perhaps the success, the imported players etc). I will now throw them to the wind (I know "you were never a true fan" etc etc) and declare myself  a Tigers man through and through. So I am a disloyal, bandwagon jumper and I'm going to enjoy it.......

Good for you Tigers. Its a nice story to have Nicky Barmby a real hometown boy in a team that has reached the promised land. Who cares weather your in it for a season or 10 seasons, the main thing is that your there, and after 104 years who wouldnt be happy for you and your club.

Good on Hull City. I used to work with a lovely fella from Hull called Tom Broughton who will be full of it this morning. I'll always remember his favourite phrase. You'd say something like "How's it going Tom?", and he'd say "I'd rather be drunk and in Grimsby".
I love seeing new clubs giving the Prem a shot. Hull have got more quality than Derby so it's not going to go as pear-shaped as their season did, that's for sure, and of course they'll be buying.
I spent some time talking with a mate on Wednesday (and I'll see him again this Thurs) who's a Stoke City nut, and he was still buzzing after promotion. He knows the hard work has barely started but he can't wait to give it a crack. Must be a big thrill for all Tigers fans.

f**kin brilliant - congrats to Hull City FC, the city of Hull & the small but very passionate band of tigerites downunder.
And it's always pleasing when the team that actually finished 3rd ends being promoted thru the play-offs.
Couldn't help but smile to myself when watching the cricket last night and David Gower said they were switching channels now to make way for the football. How nice it would have been to have the same programmer in this country. Never mind, we'll all be watching Hull every week next season!

As long as you don't jump off the bandwagon if Hull do a Derby. Anyone can jump on a bandwagon - that's how many people become big four fans in the first place - but it takes a real supporter to stay when the bad times come.

Funny how having two clubs seems to be common in NZ. When I get asked who I support, after I say Brighton I have lost count of how many times I've been asked, "and who is your Prem team?" Then the surprise when I say I have not got one.... such a bizarre idea to pick a top flight team too just to have someone in the top division.

Congrats tigers. I fear that both Stoke and Hull will be straight back down, but you never know. We only lasted four years when we had our top-flight period, but it's harder now than it was when we did it, so just staying up for one season would be a hell of an achievement.
