Not to worry, Red Badge will cock it up as usual and no one will be allowed drums in.

Can anyone with the right contacts get the ball rolling to sort this out?

It sounds like all it will take is someone from NZ Football to ring Shane at the Stadium to say "Oops - we dropped the ball a bit on this one"  - and then Shane to say "Well alright then - consider it sorted"

Then they let their respective media know the news and get it out there on all fronts ASAP. THERE IS STILL TIME!

Oh and someone to make sure Red Badge knows so that there is no misunderstanding.

It was great when Bahrain were able to do it. Why not Peru

If nothing happens here it looks like some more bad press coming for NZ Football.... Stadium management will hide behind 'the rules', despite the fact that they wrote them.

Umm - its their stadium and they set the rules for it. Sure NZ Football may not have asked for an exemption (they shouldn't even have to). I image the stadium management darkly predicted all sorts of mayhem if instruments were allowed, to put off the question even coming up. So from here if all that is required for the Stadium to waive the rule is to be asked by NZ Football then why not just do so?Its so obviously ridiculous.NZ Football doesn't manage the stadium. Surely is easily sorted in a phone call and a media release ASAP.

Once we have a proper rectangular stadium built for Phoenix we can give the security the lowdown on what makes football different from rugby, including animated noisy colourful support.

A very long time ago (1982) I attended a league game between Penarol and Nacional in Montevideo - now that sets the gold standard for noise.

Should be easy to sort out.....Martin needs to call the stadium management. We want the best atmosphere for this match

Its a little bizarre being back in NZ for this game. Wellington seemed really quiet today apart from some stuff in Civic square. I guess kiwis are  called the "passionless people" for a reason.(not including the 38,000 for tomorrows game) Watching some of the shocked NZ media reaction to the wonderful Peruvian fans has been a LOL...."these people are showing passion in public""

We are not passionless people, we just have success in pursuits that most people don't have passion for.

You can't possibly think that banning the Peruvians drums and instruments isn't going g to damage the atmosphere.

They're the stadiums rules mate, not NZF's. Though its pretty clear NZF are certainly playing their part in collectively ballsing it up again. But this stadium is the same one that killed the sevens - they have form in this. First time we've ever had a south American team here with so much at stake and they manage to collectively create this shambles. It's embarassing.

went for a walk along the waterfront today and climbed up the needle sculpture there, sheesh it bends when you climb up it: great fun!

then some faceless guy in suit came up and told me to get off it saying it was worth one million bux.

I told him I was earthquake testing it and it had successfully passed the test

I've been reading all the posts on this all day long. Stadium makes the rules.  No doubt on that.  But they say that NZ Football could have OK'd an exemption for the Peru fans like they have apparently done for white noise. Doesnt that seem more than just a little bit off? Is it part of NZ Footballs way of being 'hard' on Peru perhaps - of just a cockup by omission as per Deklan Wynne.I cab see some negative media grief coming from either one of those possibilities. Why else would NZF allow such a negative outcome around its event? I can't see any good reason. The stupidity of it all sours my feeling about the whole thing really. That said I'll be giving it heaps tomorrow - but just imagine what it would have been like with the Peru fans in full force.....sadly the way things seem to work around here though we'll never get that full-on fan experience at Westpac....

By all concerned. They're all playing a part. What rarks me off is a couple of phone calls could have sorted it easily. But the biggest annoyance is they just can't seem do see how stupid it all is.

A lot of is that I also feel pretty stink for the way the Peru fans are being treated in all this. I have had some great Peruvian friends over the years and without exception they were top people.

I just don't think NZF understand active support. And I think part of that comes from the number of english in the organisation.

Anyone else find the "Waisake Naholo" chants in White Noise a bit weird? It wasn't just a group of drunk Otago lads as it seemed to catch on. John Campbell was getting lots of love too. A bit disappointed about our noise and chants compared to Nix games and previous All Whites games.

Chants were okay but they are just rehashed Phoenix chants to make it easy for the Wellington crowd which didn't work as well for the NT. When I first went to a Nix game I didn't know what the hell they were singing and I suppose people never got the song sheet memo. I was near the front of the Zone and it felt like the small group around me was the only one into it while a few rows back it was nothing. The Oh New Zealand chant needs to go I'm sorry, just too damn awkward to roll off the tongue but hey what do I know. I was hoping there would be some Auckland City FC chants in there or others from the premiership to contribute for a diverse NT chant sheet, maybe next time.

It was top effort from all in the zone I wish these games happen more often.

Well, I thought it was fun and the crowd was loud.

Chants are always going to be a bit basic with a crowd that size.

Well to be fair there are Phoenix players on the pitch and it was played in the Phoenix home stadium.

Next time there's a world cup qualification match at Kiwitea St feel free to use acfc chants.

Well to be fair it is the White Noise supporters club is it not? I thought it should be a bit more reflective on the football landscape but whatevs. I had fun yesterday but a bit of gentle feedback shouldn't make you cry now should it.

I'm not crying out, anyone can start a chant so the fact that there are Phoenix supporters and players makes it natural.

Sorry, I understand ya now. So it is up to those supporter groups from the premiership teams to get involved aswell.
