Will white noise have a few drums? Will the finest Yellow Fever beats from Patrick rumble in to action for the All Whites? It looks like the Peruvians will have a few judging by their team welcome at AK Airport and they'll be well used to using them in crowd. That will boost their support levels a fair bit I'd say. I seem to recall the Bahrainis had some pretty good beats too.

Anyone for Bubble Soccer?
Will Red Badge ban instruments as per normal?? (Except for Patrick's sole dispensation)?
There are multiple drums in some Phoenix games, not just the one in the fever zone.
Last I knew the Peru fans will have instruments as well as the White Noise zone.
Whats the deal with flags and banners? Do we need to get them approved before hand?
As long as you follow these, you'll be fine
Patrons may not bring into the Stadium:
- Signs or banners that are obscene, offensive or abusive.
- Flag poles of more than one metre in length.

"One goal from Rory..."
Damn I forgot about that one. Hilarious that the NZF's "official" attempt was one of the least memorable of a whole bunch of tunes made for the NZ's 2010 WC campaign.
I recall there was a video for it (may have even featured Wynton??), but a quick YouTube search didn't show it.
Yeah didn't see it either.
"White Noise" ?
I didn't mind that

This being said I remember I was asked to put away my Union Jack flag when Ifill was playing for us...

They don't apply here.
Everyone going to the game are all incredibly lucky. As we know these games don't come around that often and, even when they do, they can be fizzers like last time.

If I did want to bring a larger flag pole is it possible to get it approved?

Harmon - The Westpac Fun Spoilers have come to the party as per normal. They won't even let me bring in a wooden rattle which is a traditional football fan item going back to when the first league was started in England. FFS, They really want you to bang your head against the wall.
It looks like it’s NZFs call to not allow instruments. It’s “up to the hirer what they allow”

Likely to get kicked out for throwing toilet paper streamers?
Nah you'll be right
Toilet rolls is it? Red badge might get upset, someone could suffer a paper cut ;)
Class A is pretty easy to carry without detection :)

Just flaming morons. What its the matter with these people? its fine everywhere else in the world....... Apologies to Peru fans.
There's nothing else to say.
It is a dumb move from a neutral point of view but I'm actually pretty happy about it from purely a "anything to help us win" angle.
I've no doubt they would make far more instrumental noise than the NZ crowd so I'm glad they won't be able to do that now.
I don’t know, I doubt players on the field can tell the difference between what NZ fans are making and what Peru fans will make. I think it’s a crap double standard that we are allowed them and they arent, and it significantly takes away from the atmosphere of the day.
Wait wait wait... we are allowed them, but the Peru fans aren't??? Is that for real???
Well that's total BS.
Had no idea that was the case.

Surely that can't be right. If that selective option was the case it would compound the anal stupidity of it all and cause a huge negative reaction from Peru fans - quite rightly too IMO. Everyone must be banned equally surely?
Remember folks, this is a New Zealand Football decision. Standard reasoning does not apply.
Yeah, so White Noise is allow the drums. It just appears to be Peru fans that aren't and it isn't Westpac Stadiums fault.

Geez, if that is the case then NZF and the Stadium better correct it and publicise the fact very ASAP and very loudly - with apologies to Peru fans.
But surely that can't be right - surely not even NZ Football / Westpac Stadium is that dumb (I know, I know - the record suggest otherwise but even so....). Imagine the negative publicity there'd be about NZ here and all over if true. And it would just toss petrol onto the fire of the Peru fans and team in the return game.It can't be real surely.

Umm - its their stadium and they set the rules for it. Sure NZ Football may not have asked for an exemption (they shouldn't even have to). I image the stadium management darkly predicted all sorts of mayhem if instruments were allowed, to put off the question even coming up. So from here if all that is required for the Stadium to waive the rule is to be asked by NZ Football then why not just do so?Its so obviously ridiculous.NZ Football doesn't manage the stadium. Surely is easily sorted in a phone call and a media release ASAP.

Once we have a proper rectangular stadium built for Phoenix we can give the security the lowdown on what makes football different from rugby, including animated noisy colourful support.
Totally unfair if White Noise are allowed instruments but Peru aren't. Needs to be consistent either way.

Ok, again, it is not the stadium. Shane was quite happy to have instruments with the prior approval and the Peru fans did ask for it same as White Noise did however "Westpac Stadium policy only allows musical instruments with the approval of the hirer - in this case, that's NZ Football." So while NZ Football has allowed White Noise to have the drums, it has said no to Peru fans.

Be that as it may it can't be allowed to stand. Its horrendously unfair and the Peru team and fans who made the effort to get here deserve more respect. Its a huge cock-up. Surely our New Zealand is better than that (I'm embarrassed for us actually).
A couple of phone calls should sort it if anyone with NZF/the Stadium can be contacted urgently. In my opinion it is urgent - but there is still time before the negative media gets hold of this - they'll have a field day.
Otherwise it just looks like Westpac Stadium is hiding behind that provision so it can fob off the blame on NZ Football (who probably didn't even think about it very hard - who is surprised....). Surely there is someone proactive enough out there.

Micky Mouse management.
