NZ Football should sign you up mate. Just like that managed to do it all for the year.

Only small thing is how are you going to pay for it. Home teams foot the bills...

If England came, we'd sell out a stadium without question.

Also, make a killing on selling the rights to the game aswell so i can see us not losing too much on that (plus potential match day sponsors).

Only thing probaly stopping it, well actually three off the top of my head are:

 - the traveling time

- They will be booked well in advance

- Not seen as quality opposition yet.

After this world cup we should join the Asia federation... i personally do not see too much of a difference between us and Aussie now in quality of national team and young players coming through... so lets get involved.

. Biggest reason stopping this is someone with money to under write it. I watched England at Basin as an 10 year old.

For the match dates I have had a change of teams New Zealand should play on 2013.
These are the 2013 FIFA Match days:

International Match
06 February vs. ??? at Eden Park, Auckland
I would play Canada at Auckland but the CONCACAF Fourth Round starts on 6 February.

2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier
22 March vs. New Caledonia at Westpac Stadium, Wellington

2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier
26 March vs. Solomon Islands at Lawson Tama Stadium, Honiara

Between May and June 2013 The All Whites should make a four nation tournament played all over New Zealand between CONCACAF sides and the dates which will be:

31 May Trinidad and Tobago at McLean Park, Napier
04 June Honduras* at FMG Stadium, Palmerston North
07 June Costa Rica* at Rugby Park Stadium, Invercargill

*Depends if they qualify for CONCACAF Fourth Round (if they qualify there could be another CONCACAF side which the All Whites could learn from)

After the 4 nation tournament New Zealand should play these sides in the South Island before they play Australia for the AFC Fourth Round but it depends on the France rugby tour of New Zealand

International Match
11 June vs. Jordan at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

International Match

14 June vs. Iraq at AMI Stadium, Christchurch

International Match
14 August vs. Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

International Match
06 September vs. China at Olympic Stadium, Beijing

International Match
10 September vs. South Korea at Seoul World Cup Stadium, Seoul

International Match/Play-off
11 October

International Match/Play-off
15 October

International Match/Play-off
15 November

International Match/Play-off
19 November

I like the idea of the 4 team tounament. It would be an interesting prospect for the countries who're looking to play us in the playoff. Maybe NZ + Australia + 2 mid ranked North American sides.

It depends on the dates of CONCACAF Fourth Round I think New Zealand Football should make a four nation tournament every year.

I'd go to that! But I doubt our FA would be the least bit keen to come all the way down here for a friendly, especially with the shambles we're in right now. We have a hard enough time getting players released from their clubs and I'd hate to see the roster we cobbled together for this one. Also, a lot of the criticism our team is facing right now is that we don't play against enough latin american opposition to prepare us for crucial qualifiers - this would hardly help in that regard.

as for Grenada:

Lol! Grenada is one of many caribbean nations that rarely play friendlies at all due to lack of funds. They even gave up their home fixture against mexico last weekend to play it in Houston (though I can't blame them for that, they probably made way more money than they would have at home)

We've played against Mexico in the USA twice in recent years. It was quite a daunting atmosphere, and I was only watching on the tele. Massive crowds bring big money though I suppose. Travel costs for a schedule like that would be quite high too given NZF is liable for it. Maybe our best bet is to try and lure teams here who are visiting Australia ala post World Cup 2012.

Updating what I said over two months ago, because of the play-off dates and the France tour of New Zealand have been confirmed

  • International Match - 06 February v Canada at Eden Park, Auckland
  • 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier - 22 March v New Caledonia at ?
  • 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier - 26 March v Solomon Islands at Lawson Tama Stadium, Honiara

Between May and June 2013 The All Whites should make a four nation tournament played all over New Zealand between CONCACAF sides and the dates which will be:

  • 31 May v Trinidad and Tobago at McLean Park, Napier
  • 04 June v El Salvador at FMG Stadium, Palmerston North
  • 07 June v Grenada at Rugby Park Stadium, Invercargill

After the 4 nation tournament New Zealand should play these sides before they play Australia for the AFC Fourth Round.

  • International Match - 11 June v Jordan at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin
  • International Match - 14 June v Iraq at Mount Smart Stadium, Auckland

From August New Zealand will be (provisionally) playing friendlies because the the September and October match windows the CONCACAF Fourth Round will be played so I think playing in Europe for the August match will benefit the European based players and the September and October windows it is best to play Asian sides because it depends on which CONCACAF side will play the All Whites in September and October also UEFA side play their qualifiers in September and October.

  • International Match - 14 August v Wales at Cardiff City Stadium
  • International Match - 06 September v China at Olympic Stadium, Beijing
  • International Match - 10 September v South Korea at Seoul World Cup Stadium, Seoul
  • International Match - 11 October v Japan at National Stadium, Tokyo (Replay the cancelled match from 2011)
  • International Match - 15 October v Hong Kong at Hong Kong Stadium, Hong Kong

The 2014 FIFA World Cup CONCACAF-OFC Play-off

  • 13/14 November Away (San Jose, Tegucigalpa, Kingston, Mexico City, Panama City and Washington, D.C.)
  • 20 November Westpac Stadium, Wellington (Think about the Bahrain game in 2009)

Either Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama and USA, more likely Costa Rica, Honduras or Jamaica but you never know.

Hey dhall2511 do you spend your time playing FM 13?  Easy to arrange International friedlies there.  NZF find it very hard in the real world.

By the way I live in Cardiff and the Welsh football team struggles to fill Cardiff City stadium so only ever play there when England plays them. The Blues (reds now?) get better crowds then the national team.  I watched Aussie B's piss all over them earlier this year infront of a Nix size crowd at the City Stadium which the Welsh lads around me said was a decent turnout!

Also to add, they have told everyone to slash their budgets by 33% across the board. Internationals cost money.

Ryan shouldn't get a farewell match. If he wants to be farewelled, he needs to front up against New Caledonia in March.

Okay so we've qualified now for the inter continental playoff later this year. With no Confederations Cup this time around we seriously need to arrange some competitive internationals in the next few months to prepare for a potential clash with Costa Rica or Honduras.

I'm a big fan of a game in London against Canada and I'd put money on another test against Australia (hhopefully in NZ this time). A mini tour in May/June to the USA again would be a good idea, perhaps play Trinidad and Panama in the US?

And then two games at home in September against someone like China, Japan, Thailand, Korea or Malaysia?

I wonder what it would take to get England over for a couple of games in May 2015? I'd love to see that

And I'm sure there's a nation out there somewhere that would be interested in playing both us and Australia in a three team tournament sometime. It could happen every two years in a round robin format where the visiting nation would play in both Oz and NZ with the final Oz vs NZ fixture rotating across the countries each tournament. Great for the fans, great for tv too

 Planning for the long haul

To prepare in the best possible way, New Zealand Football is considering a plan to recreate that experience, probably in the September 6-10 window. This would involve players assembling in Central America for a game against the likes of El Salvador or Guatemala and then flying back for a second game on New Zealand soil within a few days, most likely against an Asian team.

That would enable New Zealand Football to test all aspects of the procedure and give players a taste of what they could expect in November. It would also allow home fans a final chance to see the team.

Why Asia? Why not just get the same team to travel to NZ after first match. See how they respond to the travel etc. I'm sure a El Salvador or a Guatemala would be accomodating
