Fist pump, face palm, or frustration

The news late today that we are about to hear an update on our fate from Rob is hard not to find exciting.
Will it be a case of “it’s close but there are still some sticking points”?
Will we be told the fight is over and it’s time to all go home and plan how to say goodbye come the season’s end?
Will he simply say “25 years”, drop the mic, pop a cork and walk off with hands held high?
It’s hard to say for sure. My gut says we are either getting some very good or some very bad news otherwise there would be no hoopla at all.
I find defeat an unlikely outcome given I know Rob and Domey would fight to the bitter end for this. They wouldn’t be calling it this early just because they’ve been told no once again.
God I hope it’s a flat licence term with the promise of extensions on a level playing field with the rest of the clubs. But a 4+3+3 seems the most likely outcome if I was a betting man (and I am).
But I guess the devil is in the detail. Are we going to be told we must hitting certain membership numbers? That we must sign an ageing Premier League player? That we have to start a finishing school for aussies? That we have to fly free 747s to every match? Who knows….
All I can say is I hope sense has finally prevailed.
My gut says put the bottle of bubbly in the chiller and prepare to celebrate loudly and proudly in your office come midday tomorrow... but keep a stiff whiskey nearby just in case. This fight is likely over one way or the other.
