Would be good to get a comparison of the Breakers ratings and Warriors ratings to the Phoenix ratings and what extra content is shown on Sky for each team like weekly analysis, pre-match/post-match. I know the NRL has a decent set of content on Sky.

Well if you take what the Phoenix say then we must rank below the Warriors and above the Breakers.
Either Morison or Dome said around the time of the negotiations that the Phoenix rated about the same as the Warriors did at the same age and were on the same trajectory, the issue was that the League as a whole doesn't rate, so the FFA has committed money to advertising the league in NZ rather than just the nix. Although I find that statement pretty hard to believe as the Warriors always had pretty good crowd and a big following IMO.
They also said that the Phoenix are the second most supported club team in the country after the Warriors, which would indicate that they rate above the Breakers. Although the Breakers have a number of casual fans because of the amount of championships that they've won so I also find that statement dificuilt to believe.
Sky Sport 2 shows as blank from 7.30 Saturday so maybe?
All this talk of Piney commentating the Phoenix games. Are we jumping to conclusions? Did he say he was commentating on SKY? He only replied that he was commentating the games this season. Maybe he was refering to RADIO. Do we know for sure? Anyway, it's all an aside really because he's not affecting the game and as much as I prefer Piney to Boring Square Jaw De Jong or Dewdrop, it's the Phoenix that stirs me up, oh yeah. Come on you Nix!

As long as Piney is the lead commentator, I couldn't care less who they have alongside him for colour contributions.
Fred used to come as across as genuinely insightful during his time doing co-comments for the Kingz broadcasts (I think alongside Gordon Irving), so perhaps with a lead man as skilled and professional as Jason, it may just bring out the best in him again... we shall see...
Yeah Fred was much better when doing it with Pine (giggity) during last year's ASBP.

I understand it's a situation between the FFA and Sky that is six of one and half a dozen the other, but only confirming the rights to broadcast the A-League just over 24 hours before the League actually begins? If Sky ever have some serious competition I will have a very high chance of jumping ship.

With the Nix taking over the negotiations maybe they let the contract expire early.
One would assume that meant Sky thought they could get it cheaper and the Nix thought they could get more.
If that's the case maybe it was the Nix vs Sky and FTFFA had nothing to do with the delay in getting it signed.
