Hopefully expecting to see this line up given everyone is fit.

Think you'll see Sotirio and Piscopo start on the wing with Ball and Hooper up front, Davila will be central instead of Rufer.

Playing only 1 DM vs Sydney is a heck of a gamble.

last game played against Meb V 3-0 win starting lineup was, obviously Payne gets swapped out for Fenton, but I'd start with this lot in a 4-3-1-2 shape.

1 Stefan Marinovic GK
6 Tim Payne DF
13 Liberato Cacace DF
27 Steven Taylor DF
3 Luke DeVere DF
5 Matti Steinmann‎ MF
10 Ulises Dávila ‎ MF
8 Cameron Devlin MF
7 Reno Piscopo‎ MF
88 Gary Hooper ‎ FW
9 David Ball ‎ FW

Marinovic

Fenton, Taylor, DeVere, Cacace

Rufer, Steinmann

Davila/Sotirio/McCowatt, Piscopo

Ball, Hooper/Sotirio/Waine

(The /s are because there are ?s as to where Dávila and Hooper's (match) fitness levels are at, nothing else.)

Hhope the rufer - Steinmanns playing relationship has developed since the start of the season. I thought the two of them together were a large part of why we struggled.

Felt a bit bad for Rufer really, he'd just established himself in the starting 11 and along comes some Sydney FC reject who starts playing like Iniesta.

Think thats a bit rough there other reasons as well dont think that the way they played together was any more responsible than some of the other reasons why we started the way we did. WE wernt getting hammered and massivly outplayed and there were plenty of signs that things could improve quickly think some people made more of it than needed to be.

It didn't take long for the Pheonix to go into the lead with Jaushua Sotirio's powerful header evading Prendergast at the near post.

Wellington then went on to double their lead after some chaos and miscommunication in the box.

Phoenix's Matt Steinman had the final say after Reno Piscopo's corner saw Luke DeVere, David Ball, and Gary Hooper all get in on the action before Steinman guided the ball across the line to make it 2-0.

Wellington took the free-kick in a dangerous position and Piscopo's curved shot found DeVere who headed past Prendergast to make it 3-0.

All happened in first half, and had a penalty saved as well. 3-0 at HT. Promising.

It's great to see these three scoring, will help Sotirio's confidence at the restart, while the other two have been very unlucky at times this season.

I just hope the myFootball channel on YouTube works as it will be way too late for me to head out to the pub come kick off and I DO NOT want to miss our first game in months!

Kia ora team

Does anyone have any thoughts on the best pub/bar/place with a screen, in Wellington, to watch the match this evening? By best I mean the pub in Wellington with the most Phoenix fans!

Cacace to score the winner with his head, you heard it here first!

Thanks!

If you don't have a ticket to the official Phoenix-led event at the Churchill, your next best bet is Four Kings on Dixon St. I believe they'll be a bunch of Fever regulars there.

Excuse the ignorance, does one need to buy a ticket? Or can people simply wander in before kick-off?
