Elimination Final v Melbourne City | Sunday 3rd May | 7:00pm
I reckon Broich could play the regista role of you put him in there, he's definitely got the skills and vision for it, would just be a matter of adjusting to playing deeper

He is at times played in CM but is normally paired with a more defensive player so can get forward. Brattan is their playmaker from the base of midfield and Portaloo before him. They are there just not as good as top players in Europe, obvious much.
Totally disagree. Riera is very similar to Carrick in my opinion. Positions himself well, usually avoids having to put in a tough challenge and keeps the ball moving, including getting attacks started. Lia has good lateral passing but is no where near as incisive as Riera. In terms of passing ability I think Smith, Hernandez, Sanchez, Bonevacia and Ifill are all examples of players we've had more like Pirlo than Lia.
Don't watch Carrick or Pirlo enough I guess. Or Xabi Alonso. I'll watch the last few games of the EPL closely.
I agree all the players you mention have a greater range of passing- however not many of them have played a deep lying playmaker role, they mostly played advanced roles.
Does Pirlo/Carrick buzz around as much as Riera does?
Yeh, I certainly watched Blind a bit at the start of the season, when I might have been going to play in the mids more often. Just keeps the ball moving yeh? Safe secure options.

That actually wasn't bad. It was the radio sport guys that were negative as hell in their questioning. But then we did just come off a bad run of results.
Better than Harper's last interview I guess.

I'd like to see him playing further forward and being dynamic the way he was against West Ham.
I wouldn't mind seeing an experiment with Roly further back and A-Rod further forward...Not quite sure how we'd fit them all in though

What the... ??? Is that the same Andy Harper from a couple of weeks ago? Or did someone put something into his morning coffee?
I dislike Andy Harper a lot

I really like how Roly plays further forward. His first touch is usually pretty good and he manages to get a turn in in some pretty tight spots. Would much rather see him doing this in the opposition half rather than ours.

Yep, but I don't mind A-Rod doing this either.
Wouldn't hurt to have one or two variations up our sleeve, just in case we go on, say, a run where we can't score a goal for love or money...
