Farndon Park in Clive looks pretty good at the moment
I am hoping it was a classic poor dress rehearsal syndrome because we looked far from impressive. After watching the last two games I have to say that Marco Rossi is worrying me. He looks slow. His first touch has been poor and he is getting caught in possession far too much. Let's hope he is the type that only really turns it on in real games
He was terrible. And Darije was very unimpressed with his performance.
I wouldn't be shocked if Dura and Mullen are the CB combo in Round 2.
Yep, remember that, it was right in front of me. If he does that in league games, he'll earn a few suspensions.
Did that happen once last season in his 7 yellows?..or maybe it was pre season as well. Stand to be corrected.

I cant say anyone on the Phoenix side impressed me much, apart from Paracki. Ridenton supported him well enough.
Is this the pre-season which has elicited the most grim negativity from this forum in our history? I can't remember in previous seasons so many people going in with a WE'RE DOOMED attitude. Even when Terry was going broke and Ricki was running on empty.
Weird, I haven’t got that vibe (personally or from the forums) at all?
People have been stressing about season passes, the odd communication shambles, and worrying about games being taken from Wellington at late notice.
But the logo launch seemed to put everyone in a positive mood, and we’ve been ok with player recruitment.

I'd say that the mood is generally positive and ready to see what Darije has put together.

It's not huge positivity I feel coming across the interweb.
What I think I'm reading is some weird mixture of "fark I hope/think/pray/am optimistic we make 5th or 6th", combined with a resigned batch of "we're farked" and "hoping to leave the spoon to someone else". And the odd 3rd or 4th optimist.
I was in the somewhat optimistic camp, even hopeful we might surprise and push to 4th, but the Aussie leg of preseason, combined with ACFC quietly negating us and scoring two pretty cheap goals against us, has me back in the 8th to 10th camp. For now.
But then we've barely had our starting team together, so who knows.
I'm just hoping with our front four all on the pitch together for a bit longer and McG in the mix we may improve a lot from our preseason.
Otherwise ready to be reamed.
Darje has said that the team is underprepared and underdone, I wouldn't take the pre-season form as anything other than an indication that we're likely to be slow out of the gate.
Fortunately the A-League is all about who's in form in the second half of the season, you just need to be near the top 6 and hit a bit of form and can do quite well, heck if you're Adelaide you can be sitting dead last almost a third of the way through the season, outside the six half way through the season, and still end up being both Premeirs and Champions.
