At 41 do you reckon he'd be a lock in for their starting XI??

It's crazy how many players/staff that are eventually exposed as dodgy have (or at some point had) ties to WSW.

Well we can't talk. We have had two accused match fixers play for us (Davila/Lewis), Troy Hearfield and Ahmad Elrich have both served jail time post football careers. Plus Richard Johnson had a drunk driving conviction whilst playing for us. And that is even before we talk about Terry.

Fair enough. I suppose most of that is from before I even knew Wellington existed (the club, not the city) so can't really comment (:

Apparently after the derby the players and the RBB had a "discussion" where they were basically telling the players to do better. Interesting bunch aren't they?

And we’ve been speculating in another thread about whether we have a toxic workplace culture…

Makes you wonder how Kosta’s enjoying life right now.

I admit that there were days in the last few months I wished Mo had never left. While not a star performer, he was a solid midfield presence and did not use up a visa.  However, on the strength of the last few games, Nagasawa is looking better than Al-Taay ever was (for us).

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Yes Nagasawa is a smart player. Makes excellent decisions.

https://aleagues.com.au/news/western-sydney-wanderers-part-ways-with-head-coach-alen-stajcic-appoint-gary-van-egmond/

Western Sydney Wanderers have today confirmed the appointment of Gary van Egmond as the club’s new head coach until the end of the 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign.

The 60-year-old takes charge of the Wanderers following the club’s decision to sack head coach Alen Stajcic following a poor start to the season.

No stranger to the Isuzu UTE A-League, van Egmond will be flanked by assistants Milos Ninkovic and Damir Prodanovic and will take charge of this weekend’s home game against Perth Glory.

So does this mean they're going to be good now?  I quite liked seeing them at the bottom of the table.

There is a good writeup in the football360.com.au website saying that the current state of affairs at WSW is due to the lack of planning post- Poppa.  After 2017 no subsequent coach was able to continue the same trajectory of early success and paid for it.
Potentially a lesson for Auckland FC futures too.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
