seems there might be a problem with the water over the hill as baldness seems to be quite common……

to many skinheads causing confusion of identity again.?

Karori has some quality people who know football and all the tricks so i cannot see this one even being tried let alone happening and if glenn has played top football for 25 years as previously mentioned he will be more than slightly known by the officials

I was told this information by two old local football identities when I was watching the Rapa/Villa game yesterday who both attended the Masterton game. We were really disgusted that this could be going on locally. I have since spoken to others who were at the Masterton game, who know Glen well, that are positive he did not play.

I am now convinced it was mistaken identity.

I sincerely apologise for the accusation and the offence I have caused to everybody.

I should of known Glen would not do this.

So, apart from Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain playing for Masterton at the weekend how did everyone else find the first game of the season?

We had North Wellington at home and got a good 3-0 win that was mostly thanks to some great saves from our keeper at crucial times!

Was a good battle between two determined teams I thought!  Hard but fair with not one yellow card being issued (thought the ref was really good).

Good to get the win after a major change in personnel at the Cougars from last season, only 4 players from last year in the starting line up, so happy with that start to the season.

One yellow for shirt pulling  x2 by a Norths player. Pleasant game to ref.

I thought so. Too far away from me to see. Referee did make a mistake at the start of the game by not noticing that we only had 10 players on the pitch.

Plenty of goals scored in Capital 3 in week 1!!
Unfortunately, we were on the wrong end of a 4-3 result against Tawa.
Was a good game, played in pretty good spirit by both teams. The Tawa guys were a good bunch to play against - I look forward to turning the result around next time.
Some interesting interpretations of the rules by the referee, but nothing that affected the result.
But not a bad start to the season overall.

Ref only makes sure you have more than 6 and less than 12.

We had a great game against Marist they are looking good this year with some good new players!!! unfortunately we only had the bare 11 and went down fighting 4-3 (could of snatched a point as we had plenty of shots on goal). Didn't help our Centre Back broke down after 30 mins (now out for 2 months).

Referee was top notch, a young guy on his first senior men's game, very clear and fair. great to see some good quality refs coming through!!!!

Central League many years ago. Stopout v Petone at raceway. Gary Fleet referee. Stopout took 10 minutes to come out after halftime. The changing rooms were at the end of the feild that Stopout were defending. Ref waited for 7 of them to step foot on the pitch then blew his whistle. Unfortunately it caught the Petone forwards by surprise too and they missed the opportunity. Mayhem at the defensive end of the pitch though

We had a decent game through in Masterton in perfect conditions!  Was a lot closer than the scoreline would lead you to believe.  4-1 up at halftime we felt quite comfortable but at 4-2 it was anyones games as we looked very tired and Masterton had all the momentum.  A goal from a corner against the run of play killed the game off thankfully.  Think the high intensity game v Marist on the monday took it out of our legs by the second half on Saturday.

Great hospitallity from Masterton so look forward to returning the favour when you guys head through to Karori.

I Know Feverish its great news!!!!! Actually it is The Greytown Junior Football Club. Run by amazing people and really putting Football out there to all people within the community. The juniors and seniors work really well together, we both have the NZ football Quality Club Mark, and we provide good pathways to all players no matter your level for such a small town. (we are apart of the wider wellington region)

good win for NW today so i hope they grow from this experience and prosper as the coach has put in a lot of effort over the years so it's time he got a team to gel and prosper

both Masterton and Greytown relegated this year. Should their be a playoff game for Rapa/kapiti teams to get into this grade ( and slot in lower if they lose)? Apparently D Villa won the local league - so that's their resie side..

Direct entry into Cap 3 is fair, any lower and none of these clubs would bother. They were both able to hold their own last season. Will be interesting to see if they hang around to play Cap 4 in 2015 or pull out and rejoin Rapa.

Entry to cap 3 is fair.
But if they finish in the relegation spots, then they should go back to the 'Rapa (or HK) leagues, and not to cap 4.
Where they enter the league should be where they exit the league.

I dont think there's any harm in them being relegated down if they want to stay. Does anyone know which grade they return to if they pull out of the Capital grades? If they went straight back into the top Rapa Div it would almost be worth doing that over playing Cap 4. At the very worst it would be the same standard (but probably better), and far less travel.

That is true, Ive played in all these grades and didnt really notice any difference at all - but Cap5 is a lot further from Cap2 than Cap3 is. Lettuce be cereal - these Rapa/Horo clubs join to push on from Cap 3 (like Douglas Villa, Waikanae, Paekak all did). Cap 4 is a big set back, thats another 2 years now until you get to play Cap 2 or whatever. Relegation any lower and it gets even worse

so Rapa relo from 2, and Masterton and Greytown relegated from 3. Does this demonstrate automatic cap 3 entry is too generous?
