Not quite Harbour cruising, but you could do a lot worse with 8 minutes of your life - superb!

One day, maybe one day!

The weather is kind of improving and a few hours on the Harbour is becoming more appealing by the week.

I usually head out on either a Saturday or Sunday morning or even a Friday evening, depending on how the weather is looking so if anyone is keen, I can take 3 or 4 out. You need no experience, so if you want to give sailing a go, just let me know and keep an eye out on here.

Exciting times ahead for me in September. I will be one of three crew sailing this beauty from Auckland to Fiji. Can't wait.

Great result but I see the Aucklanders already reckon it should be held up there. I am wondering what about Wellington Harbour? Racing around Sommes Island. It would be quite picturesque.

Personally, I dont  care where it is held so long as it is in New Zealand. I find it difficult to believe it would financially benefit anyone else ither than the  city or place it would be held at. But it might give this country another opportunity to showcase its undoubted beauty.

Well done Team NZ. This new young Captain really has got his brains foccused. I have really admired how he has consistantly strived to improve yet remain level headed and fockcused on winning. No complacency, no excuses, just pure drive. Well done young man.

Some musings from this morning:

1: When Dalton ditched Barker, he got smashed in the court of public opinion. How does he look now - like a genius? With the benefit of hindsight, he ditched a guy that is not a winner (despite Coutts anointing him as the next big thing) for a young guy that he hung his hat on. No reward without the risk and he was right, the rest of us were wrong.
2: Is there is enough room on the bandwagon for everyone to get back on now we like yachting again?
3: How tough will it be to find funding now? Everyone loves a winner
4: Will Russell now remember he is a Kiwi again? Either way, his time is done.
5: A few other non sailors probably secured themselves a nice little payday and a contract they would not have gotten if they stuck with rowing, cycling etc

6: Auckland council - do the parade at 3pm on Friday. People will get the rest of the afternoon off, school kids may sneak away. You'll get more people. 12pm on a Thursday is a dumb idea.

7: Win with grace. No need to talk about how you could not care less about Spithill. Enjoy the win and save it for the womans weekly exclusive. Today makes you a bad winner.

Point 6 - You could not make that up. Your solution is a good one, just be prepared for a traffic jam of biblical proportions. As you say, everyone likes a winner.
