Unfortunately this song or at least the tune has been hijacked for a tv add by some company that makes cleaning products for bogs and kitchens ,which must be why they sanitised a brilliant song with sh*te lyrics its sacrilege i reckon!! And Telecon using the Beatles come together ,is nothing sacred in the eyes of the corporates,oh dont start me wheres ma tablets ,i need a lie doon!!

First post.

Make that 4 of us.

"All that's good, all that's right;
Everything hot, all that's tight;
Women, men, pubescent girls,
Never again to finger their curls
On their heads so exquisite -
Never again to visit
The palace, the palace of love.

Chorus
Forty years of livin' - then death,
That's all that's left;
Forty years - then death.
Forty years - all that's left."

I like this post and was thinking for ages about my favourite opening lines-
This jumped into my head this morning in the lift:

"Geezers need excitement, if their lives don't provide it they incite violence, its commonsense
simple commonsense"

lad culture apologism from The Streets

It's not an opening line, but here's one more from the mighty Moz:

"So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

Still love TISM but this one also comes to mind:

Sometimes you're better off dead
There's a gun in your hand it's pointing at your head
You think you're mad too unstable
Kicking in chairs and knocking down tables
In a restaurant in a West end town
Call the police there's a mad man around
Running down underground
To a dive bar in a West end town
