Tony Romo has a compression fracture in his back, the Cowboys haven't ruled him out of Week 1, but given the normal minimum timetable for a return from this is 6-10 weeks I can't see how he could start the season. I'd expect him on IR with chance to return later in season, week 8 or so. BUT in saying that if Dak Prescott is doing well, or if they are out of contention then no chance he returns, so he'd return if they are midtable, or if Dak is average but they are winning division.

What amuses me is that the NFL/NFLPA claimed that the reduced contact etc at pratices would reduce this type of injury, but the %age of season ending tendon/ligament injuries in the Preseason has increased the last two seasons.
