I thought Pique played a blinder too. Alves is very hit and miss however his ball for the Ibra goal was magic.
Oh, and it's only fair to mention Kaka was by far the standout for Real. When he's on form he really is a joy to watch.

Best game of football i have seen in a very long time. The skills on display from both teams was outrageous.
Yep. I managed to see only about 15 minutes of the first half. Fantastic stuff, high intensity, beatiful skill, great movement and understanding between players, absolute commitment when on defence. It just doesn't get better than that.
Yeah Pique was very good, had Ronaldo sussed. It really was a delightful ball that Alves put in for Zlatan. Messi's skills are just amazing, freakish stuff.
Pique and Puyol were immense. But Iniesta was incredible. I cannot believe how good he is. Messi made Pepe his bitch whenever he went near him. Henry didn't do much. Busquets won the ball a lot and then gave it away... And was rightfully sent off.
However, the Madrid press/fans are disgusted with the performance claiming that Real could have played all night and they wouldn't have scored. The passion from Barca was simply not matched and, even with the numerical advantage, Madrid couldn't put Barca under sufficient pressure. Oh, and of course the weekly calling for Pellegrini's head. Scum.
Alonso gave the ball away more than he did all of last season. Ramos actually did okay for a while. Alves was pretty average to be honest. Mind you, what a ball. Messi is the most talented player in the world, bar none.

Agreed. Ronaldo had a couple which I fancied him to score, and VdV missed an absolute sitter. Just a terrible shot. No conviction at all as to what he wanted to do.
It was never goiong to be really exciting given how tight La Liga is- neither team would want to go all out and attack.
