Great quote in there Leggy, regarding transfer fees, which I completely agree with;
"One wish for the new season?
That price tags aren’t endlessly debated all season. The Premier League ate itself long ago, this summer has just heightened that with the new TV deal, and players - from Paul Pogba to Yannick Bolasie to Andre Ayew - are worth what buyers are willing to pay"
That so makes sense, especially when you consider the article you also posted about Pogba's fee, and the justification for it - it is justified, because it's commercially viable for ManU.
It's almost like the success of the player on the pitch is a completely different thing now, almost unrelated to the price.
That also ties in with what Wenger said about the Pogba purchase. Despite the press claiming he said it was "crazy" and then baiting Mourinho over it to have a stab back at Wenger, what he actually said was very sensible;
'It is completely crazy if you cannot afford to pay it. If you can afford to pay it you can justify it.'
Of course the press only took the first 4 words of that, and reported en masse, and then obviously asked Jose about it to stir the rivalry up once again.
