From the ASB Premiership website.

The game at Bill McKinlay would need to be at around 10:00am.  Hope the other lot can change their booking.

Otherwise we'd be looking at missing the first half of the ASB Prem game

You're playing on hallowed turf, guys. (Or would be if it was turf, not plastic.) Bill McKinley Park, 20th August, 1980: All Whites 4 Mexico O.

And as if that's not enough, it was the All Whites debut of one Ricki Herbert, aged 21.

ah bugger. I thought the ACFC v Waitakere game kicked off at 2:00pm.

What time is the Fever Friendly firing up then?

Yeah I heard 2pm from Barbara (women I talked to about Bill McKinlay park). So far the best we can do is 12pm... which should give us just enough time to shower and get over for the kick-off at ACFC (about 15 mins drive).

There is another group the is looking at using it from 9 - 12, but they haven't confirmed yet, so she will call them and get back to me in the next couple of days.

Field is $100 + GST/hour and $25 for changing room. So if anyone has any contacts to try and get it cheaper that would be great :)
That would be Barbara Cox. If you got there at 11:30am, people can get ready and you are on at 12.

Still think that KO is listed at 1pm.

Yeah, if the 9-12 bunch confirm their booking we won't be able to play there.

Even on at 10am for an hour gives nearly 2 hours to get to Kiwitea.

if  you cannot find a football pitch just go to any park near where you want to be and use a couple of shirts or jackets as goals old school way of playing football at the local park

Google Maps shows some goalposts there, can anyone confirm if they are still there? If so, it looks like it could be a great location, close to The Fox and if we finish at about 11.30, gives everyone plenty of time to get to Kiwitea.
EDIT: Never mind, closer inspection revealed they are rugby goal posts.

Victoria Park is all cricket pitches there at the moment and I would say they will be in full use.

There is also Anderson Park just down the road if someone in the area can check it out.

 Well well well...

Hi Tyson

Would you believe but Wnyrs have just contacted me and said their opposition wants to play on grass so have cancelled their booking.  If you want the ground at 10am, just let me know – it is now available

Cheers

Possibly earlier, who can tell, all concepts of time go out of the window on away trips!

I would have thought the better thing to do would have been to grab a 6er and go watch. Beats drinking alone in a pub (if its open) at 10am

Oooh sweet... this game must be of some importance then :P

OK best bet is the 500 route Howick and Eastern. It leaves about 8:55 am and arrives about 9:30. There is another one about a half hour later which arrives about 10am in Panmure and then it's about 5 - 10 mins (tops) walk over to the field :)

There is also the 550 from same stop as the 500 (stop 7012). And also the 757 which is just on the other side of the little round-a-bout  parking area by the main building (stop 7010).

Sounds good. How much do you think we should bring to cover the cost of the pitch? Will you accept NZ dollars or would you prefer euros? ;)

Don't forget, I'm pathetic & unsophisticated. My aim is to be so drunk I soil myself at Eden Park, just to give Gareth something to Blog about next week.

Normally Euros for sure... but this time I think I may take NZ dollars :P

I think just bring up to $5 in change and then we divide pretty equally with however many turn up :)

If there are any people that will be along to spectate we could probably do with a couple of linesmen/women... I'm sure we could shout a couple of beers for doing it.

Line up on the day... /SHOUT "A COUPLE OF BEERS FOR DOING IT!" :P OK but seriously if anyone wants to run the lines we'll shout some drinks :)

Now one of the last things is the strips... who has what colours available?

Also they will be opening the bar if anyone wants a drink after having a shower. Should be opening about 11:45, so a quick couple of drinks before heading to Auckland vs Waitakere... or The Fox :)

I'm guessing everyone from Welly will have a yellow YF t-shirt they can wear, so maybe you Aucklanders can just sort something out?
