Hey all. Anyone interested in going in on a bus hire?

Probably going late afternoon/early evening on the Friday (or early enough on the Saturday to make the kick off) and coming back on the Sunday after the Phoenix game.

If we get enough people it shouldn't cost too much per person :)

Good point!

This will be from Auckland to Wellington.

OK initially quote seems a little expensive =/ Although this would be there and back.

Medium Coach Hire (37 seats): $5740incl
Large Coach Hire (49 seats): $5950incl

The other option is to hire a large van/minibus. Much cheaper and much more realistic if there isn't enough interest to warrant getting like a 45 seat bus :P

So is this leaving from Auckland, and what is the cost for at least 2 seats? :P

Would make things a lot easier if I didn't have to try and get a group together... you think this would be easier for an event such as this!

From another bus/coach hire place...

I have a 29 seater, a 37 seater and a 57 seater I could provide you with. They all have air conditioning and luggage space.
The price for the 37 seater and 57 seater would be the same, $4,150-00+GST.
The 29 seater would be $2,950-00+GST.
These prices include the drivers food and accommodation.

I have a room booked in Wellington for Fri/Sat night. $378 total at the James Cook, for 1-2 adults. I can't use it and have until early November to cancel so if anyone wants it you can have it. Not been paid for yet (booked through Wotif)

Not looking like much interest in shared travel, but someone looking for accommodation, hit happydays up as you'll probably find it hard to get anything.

Not very likely, unless someone else has an option. Haven't had any response back on this, so looking like every man for himself =/

I had thought about driving down... probably nearly the same cost as bus trip for 2 people.

Maybe contact football clubs and various supporter clubs to see if they're organising busses?

One option is Intercity Gold, leave Friday night & return Sunday night at 7pm

Gold Service means downstairs seats are lazy boys, so might get a reasonable sleep

Bus on Fri, return Sunday : https://www.intercity.co.nz/search-results/Form

I've got my own way down but perhaps consider the train... easy to get a small party (5-20 sort of thing) together on than a van or a bus and the train sells alcohol!
