I mean- wests highest non-ole team is also cap 4. I would suggest, on the balance of things,  wests probably are ok with how their partnership with ole has worked out for them?

So you see it a partnership? I would say a dictatorship, they have very little say over their club

They could stop at any time. *shrugs*. Football is amateur in nz*; clubs do not 'own' their players.

*yes nix etc.

Yes - it's well known that all the kids at ole are held prisoner there at gunpoint. If you offered an ambitious player the choice between a season in cap prem, or one in central, i can imagine what they would choose.

It's fine if they can choose. But Ole do not give them the option to choose any club of their choice. They must play as dictated to by Ole.

Ever wonder why Ole have never  started their own Club? They would need a constitution , hold AGMs and adhere to democratic votes.

Ole football academy is a registered non-profit. You can look at their agreed rules on the charity commision website, if you so wish, including the structure of their board, and their required meetings inc their AGM.

This just in - smuggled photo from kenepuru earlier today!

My point is that Ole is not a club. If so they would have members who should they wish, vote the Board out. Instead of risking a club set up  they have an arrangement with clubs where the clubs just do what they are told.

And Wainui are the latest mugs.

So you'd prefer a completely non-competitive Wainui side, who'd likely perform like Wellington United did a couple of years ago, rather than more young kids getting minutes at the highest level available and developing their games? Wainui, Wests, NP Rangers and anyone else embracing the Olé way know exactly what they're signing up for - bit sad that you think they're incapable of making that decision for themselves.

Its not like Olé is taking them for a ride, there's a proven track record of success that these clubs are looking to get in on.

The game in Wellington is becoming 'if your face fits with CF, they will do summersaults to make it work for you'....Joke

I agree with you in principle that morally, NPR should probably get the slot, but that isn't how it works.  It's not CF's place to give away.  Wainui have the spot, and they can fill their team however they want.  None of CF's business as long as the players are duly registered and meet any other CF regs.

Will be interesting to see if Ole do release players to be registered to Wainui, knowing that they can't call on them should/when they get injuries in their top team... also then any FIFA development fee - where does that go when they are registered to and playing for Wainui?

Wainui cannot field a team in Central League so they should withdraw from Central league and enter a grade commensurate with the ability of the players they have at their disposal.

The culture between Ole and Wainui is poles apart and makes no sense. I wonder if the Wainui supporters will set up the leaners at the northern end of their field and down several pints whilst games are in progress and hurl profanities as they have for many years

But technically they can enter a team - if players legitimately register with the club, by definition they have a team. Unless you think CF should institute a regulation that disallows Ole academy trained players from playing for anyone but West's.

Why not?

The spectators and players from lower grades will still be thirsty.

They might increase their wine sales with all the ole mums in attendance.

I can see multiple transfers between Wainui and Wests days before the mid season deadline. Wouldn't be surprised if the whole Wests Cap Prem team play half a season there and half a season at Wainui!

Wests "reserves" will now be called Wanui. The Cap Prem team will become Wests 3rd team
