THE Gold Coast has gone galactic in its bid for A-League inclusion.

While Gold Coast Football chairman Peter Gray would not confirm it yesterday, the name of the new franchise bidding to be admitted to the 2008-09 A-League competition is tipped to be the Gold Coast Galaxy.
The choice of name further heightens speculation that the Coast club will form an alliance with Major League Soccer franchise, Los Angeles Galaxy.
