Devlin panics on the ball; not sure about him

He sprayed some very decent passes - with more time he will be a very good player

When you've already been warned, don't do it. Simple.

I thought it was completely fine until the last one, but the camera caught Talay instructing him to do it - so, if anything, blame Ufuk I guess.

Agreed. Libby is a young player and if Talay thought this carry-on was not acceptable, you can bet your money Taylor would have chewed his ear off before Talay would have also had a word.  You can bet that this is all encouraged within reason.

Trouble is before you realise it he has reached five cards and when they are for rubbish like this its just wasted and to early in the season to be gifting cards away.

Sotirio showing why he is not a striker, Great runner, but nit a finsiher.

Sotitio is a winger we are paling as striker

By now, Talay's value is showing in his use of the players he has at his disposal to their best of their potential.

We looked really good tonight. We could have got a few more if some speculative passes had come off as well - the opposition can't get a foot in front of all of them...... Hooper is quietly building up to speed - they're really looking after him (and so far at not cost t the team in results). In the mean time Ball has shown what he can do and he constantly gets himself into those danger areas. We really do have some good attacking options that are all growing into the game (lie Ball, Davila, Sotirio, McCowatt and Hooper building up to match fitness while providing the scare factor as well) while the defensive end is settling nicely. Its going to be a very tight season. Perhaps we'll not be quite so far under the radar now....

We looked great by the standard of our early season performances, and had periods of excellent, smooth flowing play.  More of that, please. Hopefully Ball will finally recoup his confidence too.

At the same  time, I prefer not to get carried away. For all our improvement, it was a two-to-one win, and one of our goals came from a penalty. It could have easily finished one all, and I would have still been happy with the result and not felt robbed.  Not taking away anything from the team, great performance, but it could have ended 1:2, 1:1, 2:1 or 2:2 just as easily.

we were bottom of the league because we kept losing games by the odd goal when we could have won. Think both WU and Sydney in that regard.  No one has wiped us out when we have lost.

Now we have won two in a row by the odd goal.  The tide has turned and this team is gelling. We are more than capable of making the playoffs

Davila and Cacace were immense

Payne, Hooper. Piscopo and Rufer were also impressive

What a goal from Adelaide!

Very excited with team and the current form, looking very sharp and we have good depth when the likes of Waine isn't required

At the end of the day, the better team won. On paper Adelaide may have better players, but the lion's share of the game, it was all us.

Hooper really showed completely what a class above everyone he is. Link up play, movement, shielding, defending - we looked a much better team going forward with him and Ball on the pitch. It was a bold sub by Talay that paid off.

Payne's playing well at LB - aside from the few sky'd crosses.

I think Cal's still a better option than Piscopo, but he played well Today. It was a shame he hit the early header straight at the keeper.

For all his excellent runs, Sotirio would get in these good positions then fritter possession cheaply. It was really frustrating.

The team's finally starting to settle - we seem to be getting better with every game <3

there is some decent enough outcomes from our variety of corners - much more so than under the last regime.

btw how many ball juggles do you think DeVere could do?

How good to get up on  a Monday after a performance like that, some random thoughts.

Can you imagine the moans if Libby had given away a penalty like that. Seems the VAR  might not be as against us as some claim

How come people moan about the chances Sotirio misses yet little or no comment about Mccowatts.

How good would it be to see Hooper play a full game.

Someone is going to get belted when they put their shooting  boots on.

When are some going to admit they went early on their rubbish claims.

we've had our fair share of VAR decisions go against us, the Fenton handball is the most obvious.

Sotirio is an experienced player and should be scoring more given the game time he gets, McCowatt is young and developing and has scored more than Sotirio for us already.

Hooper and all together would be scary, just have to work out how you then fit Davila, Sotirio, Rufer, Piscopo and Steinman into the mix

Not sure they need to all be fitted in at the same time.Great to have someone on the bench to keep the pressure on if some one isn't playing well. Also dont think experience really matters if your expecting him to score he should really have done better with those to chances. Not having a crack as like him just saying there seems to be double standards applied to some players.

Agreed. Just have a look at Davila who will shoot as soon as he is in likely position. He may miss, but he is not risking passing it to someone else who is not in any better position to score.

I think its good that we have a number of players that are good and interchangeable with each other. A strong bench is key over the course of a season, not only giving us cover should the inevidible injuries occur but also the ability to change it up during a game and inject a slightly different [but good] player into the mix to force desired change.

It's a close league, and most games are only won by one goal - we were clearly the better team, and if we drew I would've been disappointed as it wouldn't have been a fair reflection of the game; this is shown by Adelaide supporters complaining more about their own team than the pen.

I still can't believe how good Davila has been after that first game where he was, quite frankly, terrible. It's like that was his twin brother playing and the real Davila flew in later.
