Can we make it 10 in a row undefeated? Sydney have struggled against 5 man midfields this season, so fingers crossed that we can pick up all 3 points.

No word yet on how bad Tratt's injury is, would be nice to see him play again & being played at right back he would be in front of the Zone for a half.

Early forecast is for a rather windy night.

Looking forward to Wednesday (weather aside).

Wasn't able to watch yesterday's game but obviously concerned by Williams injury yesterday. Really hope he's fit, although I guess it could be the excuse we need to get Sheridan to start a match.

Huge game week

At the risk of cementing my new reputation as Miseryguts, I predict a Smurfs win of the order of 2-1. To some degree the Vucktree found us out tactically last night, though they couldn't make it click until the second half. Smurfs will have been watching. Plus, the tight turnaround after a hard fought game in the heat will do us in. Streak's got to end sometime.

Two games in 3 days, much to get excited about. "If" we actually won them both, even the Fox puppets would have to concede we are worth our place in this League. Hope the Nix have plenty of smoke cannister's.

We found them out tactically big time in the first half - far more than they did to us in the second half. We pressed them high and targeted their wingbacks who are some of their poorer players. 2nd half we sat too deep which is always going to be a problem against a side with as much quality as Melbourne.

Think some must have forgotton what happened last time we played them. Although it is a concern we have leaked 7 goals in the last 3 games.I for one would like to see Kopa moved back there instead of Doyle.Thought we were going okay when he was back there.

Was mid 20s, not that hot to be honest.

I think every team has us figured out - it's not rocket science, you play it in between the CB and FB's (particularly our left side, with Cacace/Doyle really struggling atm) and our CB's are too slow to track back.

However, I think we've been good enough to overcome that through good attacking play. I think we can beat Sydney.

Live in the now Doloras. An 8 game unbeaten streak. Life is swell.

Compared to last season (or even by round 5 of this season) - that is like being dumped by George Constanza or Kathleen Turner from "Californication" in the morning, then going to the pub in a state of misery later that night and being picked up by Chris Hemsworth or a much earlier Kathleen Turner from "Romancing the Stone".

Insert gender of choice.

And judging by the sheer improvement in the Nix attacking and goalkeeping quality, maybe even Kathleen Turner from "Moonlighting".

While we've gone 9 games unbeaten, W5 D4 for 19 points, over the last 9 games Sydney have gone W7 L2 for 21 points. Only losing away to Perth and home to us. Winning away to Perth in that period as well.

First crucial thing is going to be coming out of the blocks a million times better than last home game vs CCM.

I don't think Sydney will be able to come out and dominate due to having 'worked us out', but I do think they'll have improved in their deficiencies which allowed us to get behind their defenders and score reasonably easily last time.

Sounds like we should play every game mid week. Fire up.

I'm not expecting a huge crowd, but maybe you guys in Wellington have noticed different. Hasn't been any of the usual hype for it.

Thanks, good stats!

I guess the 5 January match quite different than a normal midweek game given most people not back at work yet, and was the first 'working day' of the year.

What's the biggest outside of a holiday period?

So we have had midweek games with the earliest 3rd November and the latest 27th February. Biggest was a 5,865 on the 17th Jan 2017 against Melbourne Victory which we won 3-0.

So if you take out the late December games and the early January (As well as mid-December Dunedin game). The crowd average drops to 4,887.

3rd Nov - 5,529

4th Nov - 4,100

24th Nov - 4,700

10th Jan - 5,105

17th Jan - 5,865

27th Feb - 4,025

Weather forecast really isn't looking great so I imagine it'll put a fair number of fairweather fans (or those with kids) off. Hopefully the forecast gets it a day out, but yeah, hasn't been the same level of hype for this one. Too many games in quick succession maybe?

It hasn't really been mentioned on any of the other threads, but is anyone else absolutely stoked about how Krishna has finally reached his potential as an A-League leading striker? The guy is an absolute menance to opposition defenders and has become basically unplayable. Yeah 4 of his 11 have been pens but from memory they were all pens he won himself by being unstoppable.

He's always been a decent player; quick, strong on the ball and with an incredible work-rate. However even at the start of this season there were plenty of people on here questioning his goal scoring contribution. I honestly don't think there is a better all-round front man in the league right now, and he's a Nix player. What a time to be alive.

We should give free tickets to that family of English tourists. The media coverage would go ballistic, journalists would fly in from around the nation. Could sellout the stadium with people clamouring to see what carnage they leave behind.

I've been really impressed with his first touch control this year, and his willingness to run at defenders with the ball at his feet.

Posted on the Roy Krishna thread asking whether if he kept his form up, Krishna's season would be the best individual season in Nix history. I have to agree - he's immense and dare I say our best ever player with Ifill. The whole fake-injury debacle that may or may not be true deflected some people but he seems so much happier now and I sincerely hope he stays with us for the rest of his career (after we get our brand new shiny 10 year license obvs), barring a move back to Fiji for their new pro league.

Interesting to note - he married his girlfriend in June this year. His performances have clearly superseded anything he's done prior to that, and he said on Twitter a couple days ago that his wife's his inspiration and motivation. Cheers Naziah!!

Wont be in the stands for this one unfortunately. Ill be on the touchline so I dont know if that'll be better or worse just yet. Keep the noise up for 90 mins though lads, can we make teams dread coming here?

As for results Im hoping for a clean sheet. Thats what i want to see right now.

We're playing the top four teams in a row, this is our challenge to show whats what.

I want at least 6 points from these games, we've got one already.

Dont think im undercutting the team either, I dont expect us to lose games but I dont expect us to win them all either. Stay realistic.

A year ago a 3-3 away draw against the champions would have been a great result, it still is and we've come a long way and have a long way to go.

Stay grounded, stay realistic and lets give em hell!
