My feeling both now and at the time he left was that he did not want to leave. It was all about a combination of uncertainty about the future of the A League re Covid, the Indian league was definitely about to start and finally, 35 years of age/coming to end of playing cvareer and needing certainty around pay days

Is very good news.
However Royz does have a point. Taylor's last game was on 25th Feb, and he was subbed off at 30 mins, so presumably some type of injury. Hopefully nothing serious, but could be April before he's ready to be a starter.
He will be great for lifting the morale in the Gong. He'll be looking forward himself to being in NSW, to a pretty much Covid free normal life. Also his ISL side Odisha were shark. Bottom of the log. Someone else mentioned they watched a game, and he looked a frustrated figure.
Hopefully being by the southern NSW seaside gets him back to a happy place.
Taylor will get out of managed isolation on March 19 and could be available for selection ahead of the Phoenix’s game against Brisbane Roar on March 21.
Superb news. Credit to the club, especially to Uffie by the sounds of it, for getting this through. Just knowing he's in and about the team again will give everyone a boost.
Taylor was playing for the worse team in the ISL, is age 36, and would have made some serious dough over the years with 200 odd games for the Toon for starters. Now that he knows the A League is still going in a Covid world, he's probably happy to go for lifestyle over moolah.
Krishna is a bit younger (33), is scoring goals for fun and playing for last year's ISL champs ATK Mohun Bagan, who finished the regular season this year 2nd on GD. One of the title favourites I imagine going into the playoffs. And money ain't everything but whilst Taylor was playing in the EPL, Krishna was kicking around in the Handy Prem pre Nix.
It would be nice, but I doubt the Nix can afford Roy right now.
Is he the kind of player who could move into coaching? Not all ex-players can do it, but if he really loves NZ he might be a useful addition to the Nix coaching staff when he hangs up his boots. NZPhoenixFan
He could well do like Paul Ifill, come here, play a season or so and then move into local league stuff and coaching. If he likes the life style and the Jet Skiing. I think it is his professionalism, influence and experience that could be used by the club on the younger players to help them into a professional career that would be a real benefit.
Would like to hear some resigning news as half our team are now open to talk to other clubs.
Need to lock in Devlin for example sooner rather than later.
