Just an email about renewing my season membership and lo and behold appear to have a different log-in, password and username. Just spoke to Brenda who had different details. Might be worth checking when you get your emails that the right details are on it as I believe the club are changing the way they do things

Have they addressed the pricing so it's no longer cheaper to buy promotional tickets for every home game ($10 ones or other deals) than it is to actually get a season ticket?

I just got an email asking me to upgrade my NixSix to a full membership. Thing is, I have had a full membership for years and I only bought the NixSix on top of the membership for the Save the Nix campaign to hand out to other people.

Edit: I suppose it just gets automatically sent to all NixSix holders and I'm just being a grumpy old man

Sorry, it's not moaning, it's actually bad! I tried to renew something, it looks like sitting in the shopping basket, but gives me a failure when I click on it. I gave them all my details including credit card. My current orders say three orders, two of them must be from last year. But no confirmation email. I'm in limbo. The only job Ticketek is doing doing is selling tickets, how can be that a big problem? And not even complaining how bad the site is designed.

Ticketek shopping experience is like Brockie taking pens for the All Whites.

I had the same problem. No on screen confirmation but my order is there (though listed twice). I rang up and was told 'there is a new system so is likely to be some bugs'. They tried to assure me it was fine. She was going to check it out.

We've decided we are not bothering. Five adults and three juniors not renewing. Had enough of being treated so poorly by the FFA and the club. Still might go to the odd game if the weather is OK though.

Sure. Principally the lack of communication. They had our email addresses since forever, and almost every important evolution in the Club has been via forum insiders or articles in the press. Coupled with the disregard of the fan base (Save the Nix campaign as example, which was essentially a red herring that many people put a great deal of effort/money into supporting) and the decision to continuously and stubbornly take games out of Wellington......I could probably go on, but frankly can't really be assed. Rather like Welnix being straightforward with the Nix fans....

Bloody hopeless again will leave it and phone later not really sure its worth the effort they dont seem to give a stuff, surprised they havnt offered a membership special for those who have been there since Welnix took over as thats when the Phoenix really started isnt it. .So we are in our 10th season and they decide to use a different membership number to whats been used in the previous 9 seasons.Really  like going back to that cluster fudge that was  season one oh the memories

I do think that the club have tended to treat the ongoing season ticket holders for granted. It is year 10 and that is something quite special. Special for the club and for the fans.

Perhaps it is the way the message etc is being delivered or lack of, rather than the message of appreciation. There is an old saying, Next time can you kiss me first before you fudge me over?

Every season we have the same Season Ticket issues and every season it is still fudgeed up. Thank God for Brenda as she has single handedly saved so many so much upset. The club and ticketec owe her forever. But has anything happened to resolve said issues? Oh we have instqlled new software, there's bound to be a few bugs. WTF ! That should not be the response and it certainly is not a fix.

Has the price gone down? Pretty sure I paid $189 for silver renewal last season and now it's $169. Good on them if they are taking into account the extra games away from Wellington meaning some people may not be able to get to them all and so knocking a little bit off the price. Or have I got it wrong and it was the same price last year?

It's not working properly for me. I can log-on to the site and click Foundation Member (on the assumption that's the place to renew - the design is unclear). However, instead of it offering me my ticket and my wife's ticket, it offers me two tickets for my wife and none for me.

I'm renewing more for "support the club" reasons than anything. I am unfortunately going to miss several games through travel requirements (and annoying find myself arriving in Perth the week after we play there - d'oh!) and with the number of homes games being transferred to neutral grounds, it looks like I will only be able to attend a few home games this coming season.

So, you're saying it might not be worth going through slight annoyance and frustration in a situation that is in all likelihood out of their hands, to support your team in what may well be our most crucial season since our first. Worrying signs, that people are being very quick to antagonise the Nix for technical difficulties. Of course they care! And it's bloody well proven in the tremendous effort from all parties to save the fudgeing club, and any chance for competence for football in NZ (NZF are the incompetent ones here) during the #SaveTheNix campaign less than a bloody year ago! It's like people are giving up on the future of pro football in NZ ('cause if there really is another poor season for attendances this season, there's no way we're hitting that auto renewal mark) over technical difficulties! What a shame it would be to throw away all the hard work of the Phoenix, WelNix, the Fever, the rest of the 'key stakeholders', and the not-so-hard work of NZF and SkyNZ, over such petty frustrations! And if you want to complain to me about the four home-away-from-home games, then why don't you consider the fact that, now more than ever, we need novelty crowds to show up in big numbers! Plus (I've said it before) there's no way the FFA haven't had a hand in those. And ICYMI, they (the Nix) are hiring a fan engagement person, so they care enough to be employing someone just to put up with this! Smh

1)   Totally disagree regarding the "novelty" crowds. What we need is an increase in Wellington crowds. I would'nt be surprised if the total spend on promoting the four out of town games was considerably more than the amount spent on promoting the TEN home games.

This already sounds like we are going down the same track as previous seasons. Lets just hope our performance on the pitch is better!

2)   Only taken 10 years for this to happen. The fans are the customers, IMHO, I would have thought that getting more customers engaged with the club should have been a priority much sooner!

I don't want to dismiss your annoyances, but I'll give you my take on things. Overall I think Phoenix could be better on communication. Hopefully the reshaping of job in the office and the new they get in improves things.

I assume the first point about important evolution were around the licence stuff? If so, you have two parties locked in negotiations. I can't think of any situation where a business says anything more than 'we are in negotiations" I've been in union contract negotiations and we couldn't say anything to our members until everything was signed. Mainly this was because while certain aspects might have been 'agreed' they could change in the future if there was some kind of trade off. All of the major events during the negotiations came via Dom Bossi of the Sydney Morning Herald. I'm sure it's not coincidence a that FFA head offices are also in Sydney. I'm pretty confident that Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications, Kyle Patterson, was the one feeding the SMH lines to destabilise the Phoenix and the negotiations. I can't really blame the Phoenix for the FFA being cods. The fact the club had no warning that the "we aren't giving you ten years" news was coming show how cody the FFA can be.

The away home games has been done to death in other threads.  But it's clear that the Phoenix want to have a national brand. As does their main sponsor who is giving them a tonne of money to help them keep afloat. Don't get me wring, I'd love all 14 games to be in Wellington, but if that is the price we have to pay for being a guest in the A-league, then I'm happy to pay it. I read some where that the Stadium is only available for 15 weeks while the season is on, so even if the club wanted to  have all games at home, it's probably not possible. If only we have Petone Wreck.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'disregard for the fan base'.

As a general comment, and not directed at you Grandadi at all, at some point, football fans need to lift their game if they want the sport to grow.  It's my view that a club in the HAL is a massive part of improving the quality of football, especially given the Phoenix have their academy structures in place now. We are unlikely  in the near future to produce players of sufficient quality to play at the best leagues in Europe, so ensuring there is a viable pathway to professional football close to home is imperative. An All White team of 4/5 European players and 10 ASBP players is not going to go far. But that pathway still remains unstable. The tangible way that I can help improve the odds that it will be a viable pathway in the future is improving the metrics by getting a season pass. $165 for 10 games and a stake at growing the sports seems like a bargain for me. I just wished others thought so too.

Hatter and Dale, excellent posts. It is quite frustrating to see fans feeling like they are - myself included. We want the best for oure local team but the term "shooting one's self in the foot" continually arises with the Nix. Other similar comments from the past "it would be the Nix if it wasn't a fudge up" also spring to mind. Perhaps Domey really needs to start looking at the picture from another position. He has been consistant which in some ways is a good thing, but, he should start looking at the same picture from different angles. The ticketec fiasco every season has always been "resolved" and it is still a screwup. Not the clubs fault but then time for them to bring pressure on Ticketec. Nearly every season Domey threatens to take games away from Wellington if crowds don't increase which is NOT the most positive way to grow your fan base at home in Wellington.
