So much talk going on in the National Team forum, I really hope we win so we can make some Fever decisions. Pity we can't have a combined Fever team actually....
That'd be hilarious. Imagine picking a squad purely from our fever teams. I wouldn't do it, but imagine the controversy and angst!
It'd be great if we had some dictatorial amount of numbers, just elect a Feverite every single year with nothing that can be done about it. But alas I think one of the massive PL teams will probably get the job

Hopefully next time around with DFC not likely to continue, the votes will be split more evenly and you'll have a better shot at it.

Does anyone have a link for the National Team conference thingy? If anyone knows what I'm talking about, because I hardly do....
Go to the main forum screen and you'll see a menu on the left hand side (starts with New Zealand General, Help & Off Topic; then moves down to the international stuff). If you keep going down there is a Conferences option, click on that.
With a bit of luck the NZ national team foundation link will be there (because I'm a member of the conference it automatically comes up to the top, but I'm not sure where it would be for you).
Unfortunately not, I only have 10 conferences and none of them are New Zealand, not a big deal just thought I'd be good to get involved

Had a 9-0 win against Fiji first up in our qualifying campaign!
Fiji are pretty weak though, and the bottom team in the group has their results removed from the final table (for some weird reason), so it's likely that this result won't count toward anything. But a great start nonetheless.
I've been entrusted with selection for the Cameroon friendly, anyone have any players that I can legitimately suggest without it looking dodgy? 4.5 stars or above.
Did see you've been getting involved, awesome stuff. I have askew my striker who has been on the outer lately. But reckon you should just pick it the way you want, could have a run as NT coach later!

It's a fringe player friendly, as Cameroon aren't much, I have Askew tentatively on the bench at this stage, trying to play some youth. We are a bit short at LB, RB and the central midfield, our forward depth is great though. Thinking of giving your man havercroft a start, what do you think?
Could be worth a go. He is a future 5 star and over 100k asi. Skills in all the right places IMO. I've probably screwed him for lack of routine though sadly.
But he'd definitely be up there on my list for a youth left back. I am of course biased!
Ok, here is my proposed team, I have been told I can select whoever I want, I assume that is still within reason - so my 3.5 star players will not be making an appearance :-(. Any feedback appreciated, on tactics, possible selections etc, remember that this is an exercise to see how fringe players and potential starters in a few season go when given an opportunity.

Askew Only played 19 minutes before getting injured, well gutted. Was hoping he'd score a couple and get back into NT consideration for competitive games.
Good to see Havercroft have a decent game in defence.

A very strange match, I would have backed us for the victory had Askew not gotten hurt. Good to see he isnt out for you though.
yeah a real shame he got injured so early into his stint, how long is he out for?
I think NT friendlies are kind of like our friendly league in that injuries don't carry over.

is anyone following the national team in the qualifiers, we have the Bengals tonight and Japan play Kuwait, a win for us and a draw or loss for Kuwait gives us one foot into first place. We then probably just n eed to draw with Kuwait in the last game to hold onto it.

Yeah, big game against Kuwait coming up on Thursday. A draw or a win means we qualify, a loss puts us into 2nd place. Though I think we'd still manage to qualify as one of 4 second placed teams?
Yeah we're through basically. Kinda cool how I actually managed to achieve something in my short reign as coach, the Iles bandwagon is now well and truly running! Just a pity it wasn't Askew....

yeah I think we can get him into the squad long term, DFC seems to like him but doesn't seem sure where he fits.
Looks like Askew got another run, unfortunately didn't get any goals but a 5.7 rating isn't too shabby.
