Yellow Fever League - Second Edition

OK so I think I'll give in and try and get a meaningful thread for the second YF league going here. Might be a bit messy since I can't post an HTML table or mono-spaced text to line things up neatly (or at least, I can't find a way to do so). I'll save the tables etc to images and upload them and post them here, hopefully that'll work.

I'll reserve the next few posts to backfill with previous round summaries etc as I get this sorted.

Banter, mockery, accusations of bought referees and offers of discount KFC relating to the second Yellow Fever League in here please ladies, gentlemen, and Hecant Ski. (Oh, and the occasional piece of serious discussion if you must.)

5-0!!! Beat thunder thighs - that's should seal the 1st division hopefully.

Also, an exciting 3-3 draw against Sanchez afc. I equalized in the 94th minute! Am still undefeated in that division, but am something of a draw specialist and have only won 2 games and drawn 5!

WTF beats sky valley 3-0 so that should see me drop to 3rd sadly.

cool looking table!

Looks awesome. It was a shame RCNS scored in the 91st minute to snatch a draw, could have found ourselves on top of Div 2 if we had picked up 3 points.

Yeah, it doesn't look too shabby. Lack of formatting on this forum is a pain in the arse though (e.g., bold/underline is the only heading you can do, no size changes or centering that I can get to work). As long as the replacement is better...

Stoked with the change in form this edition. Not safe from relegation yet but a hell of a lot better than last time out.

bwtcf will be pleased to get the trains out of the div 2 relegation zone with their first win....

like the new tables, although not happy with where I've dropped to. Two losses really have hurt.

Sweet, a win tonight will lift me off the bottom of the table. I have a few injury/suspension concerns but nothing compared to what I have had this season. Feeling confident! First game in my stadium since it's had a second tier added too.

Need to win in division 3 tonight against peow to either stay in touch with (or move into) the top 2.

Big game for the likes of peow and sanchez afc (who is that again?) to keep their slim hopes of promotion alive.

Barryz, as said above, just looking to avoid the wooden spoon! :p

Promotion/relegation

The top two teams in divisions two and three will be promoted for the next edition of the league, replacing the bottom two teams of the premiership and division two respectively.

Table

  1. Within each division, the following will be used, in this order, to rank the teams:
    • Points
    • Goal difference
    • Goals for
  2. During the league, if two teams are still level after this ranking their position will be random.
  3. At the end of the league, if two teams are still level they will be ranked by head-to-head results (first by points gained, then by aggregate score, then by away goals).
  4. If they are still level, a coin toss will be used to separate them.

Fair play rankings

  1. Rankings will be across the whole league, not per division.
  2. Points will be awarded for the following infringements:
    • Yellow card: 1 point
    • Straight red card: 3 points
    • Two yellows => red: 3 points
    • Yellow plus straight red: 4 points

Will get around to adding the fair play table to the thread shortly. But just so you know, after 9 rounds, Tawa FC is 7th equal on 15 points, while the dirty trains are 15th equal on 20 points. Only Sanchez (22) and tegal (24) are worse than you.

Have added competitors (using nicknames from the old forum - if anyone has changed their username during the upgrade let me know) and rules to the start of the thread. I've just about got the formatting etc sorted (well, as best as is possible), so it must be about time for the new forum to start up...
