The name, colours and logo of Sydney's newest A-League club should be settled by March next year with a series of forums planned over the coming weeks to give the community their say.

A black and white colour scheme is believed to be favoured internally but those involved with the bid are happy to go with whatever the people decide.

I see Kyle Patterson, former FFA comms guy who hates the Phoenix and active support, is expected to be their CEO. That's one way to become the most hated club in the land.

Is this a Sydney expansion bid team that Nix, were looking to do a 3 game/equity stake deal with a few months ago?

From memory both parties said post that failed deal (killed by FFA?), there was no bad blood at all.

We are going to be live tweeting tonight’s @mswunited Community Forum at Cabra-Vale Diggers!
Join the conversation using #MSWUFORUM with @RoopsFTBL
— FTBL (@FTBLcomau) March 13, 2019

ON THE PANEL TONIGHT

Chad Walker - Director at @mswunited
Gino Marra - Deputy Chairman
Sam Krslovic - Director

CW: We've been in the Macarthur region nearly 12 years.
Sport has a huge influence on anybody. Everybody is somehow involved.
You don't have a development without the community. It's exciting to see an A-League bid in the region, it is under represented in sport.

GM: Kids won't need to travel elsewhere in Sydney.
You won't need to do a 2 hour travel three nights a week to train.
Building a program around the local associations and the NPL clubs.
Why should they travel 2 hours down the M5 to watch a football game?

SK: Some of our best players have come from this region. Harry Kewell, Paul Okon, Brett Emerton
Yo'd be amazed when you look at leagues like Scotland, Netherlands and Denmark how many Aussies are playing there and how many come from South West Sydney.

GM: If the team loses on the weekend we want the community to be s****
We want all the local teachers, workers to be talking about the team when we win and lose.
Hopefully we can snag kids who are playing overseas.

CW: We really want this to be an incredibly important lifestyle for people in the area.
One thing i should say it is incredible how much support Gino is getting for sponsors. People want to get involved. International corporations and local business.

GM: Sam and I and the board have been talking about getting all the SAT programs involved at an early age
We know the nam of every single kid going through the program. The club's TD can talk to the TD's at other NPL clubs and start putting programs together.

GM: The club head coach will have a dossier on all the key players 15 years and up and will try to work through as much talent as possible
Financially for the club that is the future we want to achieve.

SK: Our thoughts aren't in line with SFC and WSW where they have their own NPL Youth League program.
It's proven statistically their turnover per age group is 40-60%. How are you supposed to develop a player if you are turning them over every year?

SK: We need to have a number of feeder clubs.
The coaches we bring in need to be a higher calibre.
The feeder club arrangements will slowly build our dossier. We will know the best 15 year olds in the region and offer additional training.

SK: SFC and WSW system is based on one thing. The only reason they do it is because they dont want to pay training compensation if the player goes overseas.
If you send a player overseas you need to pay a fee for scale to their junior clubs.

SK: We want to work with our NPL clubs so they financially benefit. The A-League clubs take take and take and don't give anything back.

SK: We are big on a cultural aspect. on crating the right foundations and a family atmosphere at the club. We can't guarantee that we will create elite players. What we can promise is that they will come out as better people.
Good clubs with good culture get results

GM: We have to get the whole organisation community driven
If we get the community piece right, we can drive our message across. We have a long term vision for this club.

CW: We are close with Sydney FC and the Wanderers.
It's working with those other owners and other clubs and making sure Sydney as a region benefits. We have a completely clean slate and we won't make the errors that they have made in the past.

CW: We want to work out how all 3 clubs can work together to make the A-League a better competition.

SK: We have made it clear we want someone to coach us from the region.
We have a pretty decent list.
We are far from starting and it's hard to lock someone in. We are hopeful in the next few months we will have that ironed out.

We are pretty sure before Christmas we will announce a coach but contractually we will finalise something in the next few months.
We've got to have a coach in place in October because on 1st of November the un-contracted player list is released.

CW: Walker Corp doesn't know a lot about football.
But it has evolved very quickly for us. It's not about the football for Lang. Sam and Gino know the football, we don't. We are very much involved and on the football side we are happy to take advice.

GM: People don't realise how big this team is.
If you get Melbourne Victory, biggest club in the league turns over $27 million. CCM turns over $12m. We are an organisation that is going to be $20 million +. That's our vision.

SK: The name is very challenging. I encourage everyone to go online and participate with suggestions
The community will work out what the best name is for the club. I don't have a preference for the name or colours. Whatever the masses think, i'm with it.

GM: I think active support has gotten out of control.
If there is going to be an active supporter group it's got to be self-governed. Family is important to us here.
The community wants a team and place they're proud of.

GM: We've launched a 100 club for small business in the area.
The local caterer and dry cleaner can work with the team.
We'll have a policy for South West First.

SK: We are trying to give as many kids the pathway to professional football.
15 kids per age group isn't enough opportunity. We are hopeful that 3 or 4 NPL clubs will be involved in that. We work closely with their coaches.

SK: If you look at us for example, we are in Canley Vale but we go all the way to Woolindilly. That's a maybe 2 hour drive. It's unrealistic for kids to travel like this.
That's why we want a number of hubs with NPL clubs which will be placed strategically.

GM: We want to be honest and work hard. That's how we'll play our football.
That's how we will interact with everybody. Our numbers for fans are telling us we're going to be very healthy.
We are targeting 10-12K ticket holders in our first season.

GM: For the names we will have a working group of the board, key stakeholders, one of those will be southern districts and Macarthur association.
200-300 have contributed in the survey for colours, name and logo.

SK: We have worked with NPL NSW beginning an NPL Women's Program.
We are fighting to get there in the end with our Women's program and our W-League team.

SK: Definitely. Definitely. Definitely
We are in favour of Pro/Rel

CCM are the best example we need promotion and relegation. Pro/rel creates excitement. Every game means something.
It doesn't allow complacency. It harvests greater work ethic. Greater desire.

SK: Our Centre of Excellence will be off the back of Western Sydney University's medical building.
We will need to find funding but we have a plan.

SK: The ideal marquee would be someone who has had a year in Asia and moves for a lifestyle change.
There are some on the list, maybe some from Europe from a certain country shaped like.... a boot.

GM: We have gone out to nearly 80K people via email and social media. That's sure to hit 100K by the end of the month
This will be the largest community engagement for any club in any sporting code in Australia
We want to make sure we build something we are proud of

Black & white must be the local colours as the Western Suburbs Magpies in the NRL used to be based at Cambelltown Stadium.
