Wowsers, only 8,000 watched the game between the Nix and Jest in round 16 this season.

I saw that, surely that must be an error in the way they collect that data?

25 mil cash less the FFA's take for running the Aussie national teams, that isnt gonna go very far spread over 12 AL teams. I could honestly see the cap droping down to $2 million.

I wouldn't be so sure, I know the TV audiences the previous season were averaging around 30k per game, and they mentioned there's been another 25% drop this season. In that context an 8k audience for a game that's not particularly interesting to the Aussie market is believable. And goes some way to explaining Fox's efforts to get out of the deal from 2016.

Think that a TV deal could be the least of FFAs problems in getting season 20/21. The way this 2nd wave of the virus is shaping up i cant the borders in either country opening any time soon. In fact Victoria could be heading into its own isolation bubble the way things are shaping up which would present another set of logistical problems to deal with. Take Melbourne Derbies  out of the mix and things become even less appealing for broadcasters

How can you justify being in the A-League with those poor ratings? time and time again. If only we had a derby.

Roar still have to play the Victory, so that might have to be shifted to the last game & hope that the Roar don't have to host a Finals game.

As people are saying on other forums it would seem crazy that the Phoenix who came from a covid free country on a chartered plane had to quarantine for fourteen days but the Melbourne teams, some of who live in the high risk postcodes and who all mingled together when attempting to fly into ACT, don't.

So is there an exception to cross the border and an exception to quarantine? If so what is the chances of the latter?

Absolutely. It'd be a dangerous move in terms of public health, but also politically for a whole number of reasons. Why would NSW government be willing to take on those risks?
