I know but not in a long long time.
Cody = Bourbon and Coke.
Last time i was there bourbon and cokes were very prevalent.

Imagine these academies heading over the hill to concrete bunkers of changing rooms, then having to listen to the oldies in the clubbies a few codys deep, giving them all shark for their haircuts etc.

I think the cultural guardians of Wainui would have looked upon many of the haircuts in the Wests - Olympic games with admiration. Feutz and Watson making the mullet the must-have hair style for Central Leauge marksmen.

Wanganui lead New Plymouth Rangers by two points in the Fed League with two games left, they play each other next Sunday in what could be the title decider.

They are very interested in promotion from what I understand. So is NPR.
Wanganui are an interesting team I have seen them play once and they seemed to rely on some really really quick guys up the wing but they were very strong on all their tackles etc.

Only 7 goals against indicates they are pretty strong defensivly

I think i did say congrads above? Lets see if they get promoted; i think they'd bring a lot (of character, if not footballing prowess) to the central league - and it is one of my fave clubrooms to visit.

Otoh, there must be a lot of soul-searching going on up at Maidstone.

Playoffs are 10th / 17th of Oct apparently, the 17th being the long travel date. (i.e over the hill to wainui).

They'll have to do some recruiting as they didn't have a big squad this year (about 16 I think) - which just takes a couple of injuries and suspensions to have bare minimum (which was probably the case v Tawa)

As much as we enjoy Wainui winning the league, they only have one decent player who is very  good and can get on the end of many of their long balls . Without him they would be mid table at best.

Tawa would have  beat them by passing the ball on the ground, catching out their high line and keeping their best player in check
