Just reading the Guardian in praise of that vile creature Tracy Emin, (her of the unmade bed and the chick who ripped off Billy Childish).
I was wondering at what point in the history of art could you no longer compete when it comes to drawing?
1) Cave Paintings
Yes I could draw better than that hands down, no contest.
2) Egyptian Paintings
OK no doubt about it, the Cat Botherers really upped the game when it comes to drawing, but lets face it still not very realistic is it? Some sort of Middle Eastern Haka? could draw better.
3) The Normans
What a load of crap, the Egyptians had moved things along nicely and then the Normans stuffed it up, typical French. Look at that Castle/town its nowhere near in scale with the bloke standing on the harbor wall and are we supposed to believe they are sailors??? They look the the band the Housemartins. I could draw better.
4) Byzantium art of the 14th century
Deffo a major improvement on the Normans but the chick looks like someone out of a New Romantic band and whats with the size of the babies head and why is it grabbing Boy George's chin? No it's getting tougher but I could draw better.
5) 15th century
OK I'm beat, yes there is still an 80's theme going on with the bloke doing a bit of robotics dancing and they both look a bit weird but the dog is f*cking ace. Van Eyck you beat me.
How did they rest of you do?
