I saw Land of the Lost last weekend and I loved it was a good laugh.
Went to see The Hangover on Friday. Had me in stitches, I recommend going, I'd even pay to go see it again.

Nicolas Cage is a dictionary personified. He's so boring. It's funny at first how boring he is but after a few seconds you just don't care anymore.
I considered The Hangover but it looked like it could be another terrible money-making attempt that wasn't particularly funny. Would you say it was anything on Anchorman or Stepbrothers?

Yeah I use to find him amusing but he's become more painful to watch than anything else. Same character in every movie and a sh*te one at that.
Yeah I thought that at first, but it was joke after joke throughout the movie and plenty of hilarious memorable lines. I'd say better than Stepbrothers but huge call to say it's better than Anchorman. I say go watch it and tell me what you think.

Has anyone seen "Fanboys" and if so what did you think? I read it pays homeage to George Lucas and Star Wars.
I liked Nicholas Cage, movies like Con Air, Face Off, The Rock. But recently he made some crap movies and my opinion of those movies has changed a bit. Although 'Matchstick men' and 'Lord of War' were both good. He isn't Eddie Murphy yet, but he needs some help picking scripts.

Yip, I always go onto imdb before checking out a movie. It tends to be reliable. Having said that, it led me completely astray with Robocop. Got about 7.6 and it was absolute rubbish.
Lord of War was a good movie but it's getting to be as overrated as Blood Diamond imo.

You have no idea what you're talking about. RoboCop is an absolute classic and Clarence Boddicker is one of the all time best screen villains..."can you fly, Bobby?"

. The Camorra and the Mafia are two entirely separate entities. Indeed the film's closing notes go some way to highlighting that fact.

Inglourious Basterds. Tarantino at it again. Awesome film. Must see - especially if you are a Tarantino fan.
Not a Tarantino fan at all but I quite enjoyed the film.

I was a Tarantino fan, and thought that Inglorious Basterds was alright - not the greatest film ever made but a mile better than Death Proof
Saw "District 9" last week.Impressive movie, an interesting scenario, invoking memories of apartheid and townships of South Africa past, with a biotech alien invasion twist. Look out for a sequel soonish.
A well rendered movie in a Doco/news cam style.
Peter Jackson's name on it should guarantee box office success I guess, in spite of the relatively low key marketing and small budget, by hollywood standards at least.

Inglourious Basterds, was pretty good, as with all Tarantino a bit hyped. I liked Death Proof, thought it was better than Rodriguez' Planet Terror. Was nice to hear a NZ accent on screen next to your usual American. Favourite Tarantino film is Reservoir Dogs though.

Same, Robocop is a classic! I saw it as an 8 year old, and I have loved it ever since!

I watched the fugitive for the 73rd time last week. still quality
Just watched T2 Ultimate cut with some added scenes. Was excellent. watching Arnie learning how to smile made me laugh for about 10 minutes. It's classic self parody

No Country for Old men is a good film. it could've run for another 30 minutes - trying not to mention the plot and spoil it for you. But it is good, fresh and inventive.
Pans Labyrinth is a brilliant Spanish film. Rambo 4 is amazing, has to be seen to be believed - those 'movie critics' who hassle it should be ignored. 300 and Sin City are both amazing. Gladiator, Anchorman, and Stepbrothers are goodies as well.

'Pans Labyrinth' is very good, would recommend. Although if you hate Tim Burton films, then you might not like the style. I have to say that Rambo was overrated it was ok, but nothing special. 'Sin City' is awesome, over the top stylized comic book cool. '300' not so much and 'The Spirit' was poor.
Watched 'Milk' the other day, Sean Penn has ridiculous acting range to go from Harvey Milk to something like Jimmy in Mystic River is amazing (film was good but awkward to watch for me at times). Although I thought Mickey Rourke in 'the Wrestler' was also excellent, which he lost the Oscar for leading actor to Penn, recommend that film too.
