Hello there.  Those interested in football literature - or just Waikato football - may enjoy perusing the Waikato Football Programme website at:

www.waikatofootballprogrammes.weebly.com

This is an archive of Waikato football programmes through the ages, from internationals and cup finals to club programmes for the likes of Hamilton AFC, Waikato United, Waikato FC, Melville United, Ngaruawahia United, Cambridge, Wanderers, and Waikato Unicol etc (with further source material welcomed). The Ngaruawahia archive is particularly comprehensive, some of the Hamilton stuff is truly vintage, and the Unicol archive has recently been added to as a result of online inquiries.

While it is far from complete, it does contains images of the covers, photos and inside pages of many of the memorable programmes that have been published in the Waikato in the past 60-odd years. Combined, they help tell part of the story of Waikato football.

It is a companion archive to the www.sitterfanzine.weebly.com website.

Hello. Just a note for football programme anoraks

There has been a significant update of material at the www.waikatofootballprogrammes.weebly.com website over the past few weeks, (with more to come)

There are now about 300 scans or excerpts from Waikato programmes - or links to the full programmes in some cases - over the past 60 years, including those from Hamilton AFC, Waikato United, Melville United, Waikato FC, Tokoroa, Cambridge, Wanderers, Waikato Unicol and Ngaruwahia United (huge archive). And a couple of blogs.

Also a smattering of cup final programmes involving Waikato teams, and the the odd international. And a few programmes or media guides for sale.

Fill your boots.

Must try harder

Hello, just to let all you anoraks, numpties and programme boffins know that some interesting new stuff has been added at the

www.waikatofootballprogrames.weebly.com website

The main addition has been to add a lot of programme excerpts and info from the exceptionally curious 1987 season of the "original" Waikato FC - which "leased" Claudelands Rovers northern premier league berth as a private company, signed up a number of feeder clubs and duly won the league....

It then folded with major debts the following year after a 1988 national league berth was instead given to Waikato United, a rival (but perhaps more stable) initiated joint venture between Hamilton AFC and Claudelands Rovers.

All in all, an amazing and slightly bizarre chapter of football history, pithily told here through a few Waikato FC programme excerpts.

Perhaps punters can also help identify and caption a few of the Waikato FC players in the team photo?
