bring him to the nix

He's on a GBP 3.5m per season until 2023.......

on a slightly more serious note, what were the loan rules in terms of money, if they wanted to recuperate some of that? does it all count towards our salary cap?  remember there was something about it with city trying to get free players

IIRC the complete cost of the player from the home club counts towards the cap, but he could be marquee...

Feel for him as he is one of our greatest players and injuries have wrecked his career in recent times.

Saying that I'm pleased that he has such a useful contract - plenty of players have had both their careers and livelihoods fudgeed up by injury and he won't be one of them

Agree with most. A good player but certainly not anywhere near our greatest players.

Yeah, I guess we have a long list of players who have played almost 170 games in the Premier League for a club like West Ham. (most as a regular starter, and quite a few as captain) Nowhere near the greatest, for sure...

Are you mad?

I think he would be up there. Not many have made it at the premiership or a comparable level over an extended period and that surely is the test. Rufer, Nelson, Wood getting there. I can't think of many others

Why stick to the EPL. Many of our players were great. You are obviously new to football.

It's obviously getting too late for you leggy, time for your cup of tea and bed old fella

In the morning when you wake up have a read what I said - "comparable level" and one player listed did not play in the premiership

If you follow football then there is no doubt he is one of our greatest

You are entitled to your opinion. Greatest  is not how I would rate him.

We’re not calling a guy who scored 5 a season for Gisborne in the 70s ‘great’ in this context. Not quite the same as scoring in the Champions League

If hes failed a medical there must still be an underlying problem?  No club would be interested then, would they?

It's on Stuff now. Again, no clear reason given other than concerns over fitness and injury history

What else could it possibly be? You don't travel to America to be told "no, we don't want you" unless its a medical thing given he wouldn't be there without the fianncial side of it being agreed.

So wonder why Kansas City took him and Nashville didnt? If West Ham get relegated, wonder if its more or less likely they would try to keep him after loan spell.

Wonder if he will get to hang out with Mahomes :)

Real good news, it's been way too long since he was playing.

May now miss AWs games against Oman (March 25th) and Bahrain (March 30th), though.

Kansas have a MLS game March 28th. Guess it depends what terms he's negotiated etc.

Still great to see a loan move finalised.

Mods - can we please get Reid's home updated to (Kansas City | USA).

Likewise Dyer needs an edit.

This week's Flying Kiwis. Same old same old.

Peter Vermes, Sporting KC head coach & GM: “This is now three days in a row, he’s trained three days in a row. He’ll train tomorrow again and... I don’t have a timeline yet but our objective is to get him fit so he’ll be ready to start playing with us as soon as he’s ready.”

Unsurprisingly not in the match day squad, as Sporting Kansas visit Vancouver for Matchday 1.

Still no doubt getting to know the names of his team mates, and settling into the US of A.

SKC coach gives a little 1 minute update on Reid, between from about 12.30 mins in in this video conference, after his first week.

Their coach has been there 12 seasons. Must be decent.

"12th-year manager Peter Vermes—the longest tenured MLS coach and the only coach to spend 12 consecutive MLS seasons with the same team—Sporting won four major championships last decade and made eight straight playoff appearances from 2011-2018. The club fell short of the postseason last year, ending the fourth-longest playoff streak in league history, and will enter the new campaign with aspirations of becoming a title contender once more."

Winnie could well start off by playing for SKC II in the USL. They start their season next weekend

From Vancouver's Twitter. Canadians being such nice people, doesn't transfer well to football fan hooliganism.
