The story and video is on the A League web site now too. Nice acknowledgement that he is not only a Kiwi player but also an A League export.

Awesome Sarpreet! What a great story this is for the Nix and NZ football after a seemingly pretty lean run.

Going off the footage, I don't think it would be entirely inconceivable that he may get a look in with the first team squad over the course of the coming season. Really didn't look out of place at all. Hard work begins now though. Go well son!

And he's on for the last 20 against Real Madrid. Bayern have already put the game to bed at 3-0.

Almost provides an assist to Gnabry, whose one-on-one is saved well by Courtois.

Skims the post with a tap-in from the edge of the six-yard box.

Brilliant turn and sweet finish from near the edge of the box, putting Bayern 4-1 ahead... but ruled just offside.

Hard to think we're talking about a Kiwi doing all this for Bayern against Real Madrid, but here we go. Holy shark.

Looked much better than in the Arsenal game, earned a lot of plaudits from fans and looked very sharp out there, but imo still had the same issues with positioning that he had against Arsenal. Hard to adjust from Sam Graham and Corey Brown to Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane i guess. Great awareness on his disallowed goal, sweet finish into the top corner on the turn

Couple anecdotes from fans I found:

"Sarpreet Singh looks really damn good, I hope he breaks into the first team in the following year or so"

"Can bayern start Singh in every game next season? Plz"

"Singh has been defending our left wing very well by providing cover for phonsie"

"Who's 42?? Showing some good stuff out there"

Impressing fans of a club like Bayern this much can't hurt!

Saw some random guy on Twitter praising Bayern's scouts for finding him and saying he looks like a long term replacement for Thomas Muller

90 minutes and two assists from Singh in a 3 - 1 home victory against Man City in the Champions League.... haha, imagine that. Hard to believe there's a chance of it actually becoming reality.

Yeah it is just a random on Twitter so hardly a big deal. But even if you think that Bayern bought him and chucked him on in some preseason friendlies as a cynical ploy to sell shirts in India or whatever, the fact that he's not looking out of place alongside and against some of the best players in the world means it's not that unlikely that he might graduate to being a first team regular in the future. And if he does he is likely to play the same sort of role as Muller.

If he becomes even half the player that Muller is I would be extremely happy.

Still so exciting to see him thrown into action so soon, and actually getting involved and doing some good stuff on the pitch too.

The work will really start however when he gets back to Germany and working his way into the fold via the 3.Liga & Bayern II, whose season kicked off last night with a 3-1 loss to Würzburger Kickers. Different story from playing with the likes of Muller, Lewandowski, Gnabry, Martinez, Thiago, to going to a team of prospects & talent with only a smattering of experience. Should be interesting how it all plays out though.

Agree but its way to early to see weather he is put back into the 3rd division after these friendly's have raped up.  I want him to succeed but as a replacement to Muller is a lol.

I know correcting people for spelling is wrought with risk (Nelsen verus Nelson), but man you really need to keep a thesaurus nearby before you post stuff.

I hope that's what was meant.

Anyway Singh awesome stuff. Even if he never plays a competitive game for the Bayern 1st team, a fantastic experience. Will be creating a great buzz around Nix HQ.

Hopefully someone can construct a Singh highlights package for his 20 mins. However watching these game highlights (Singh features a little at the end no 42), it's sort of insane he was on the same pitch as this showcase of world superstars.

Hope he gets good minutes in this one, obviously Milan are a huge club but their current players aren't as strong as arsenal or bayern's players.

Was hoping he could maybe push for a starting spot as Bayern might have looked to rotate their team for this one, but looking at that list Milan largely brought a first team squad so I don't know

As well as Singh is doing, I dont imagine they are seriously considering him, as a first team option yet.. I think he would benefit more from having a full season playing for Bayern 2, learning the craft from there excellent coaches and putting that into practice week in week out. Rather than spend his whole time sitting on the bench.

He still needs to improve in his physicality and strength on the ball. A season in Bundesliga 3 will be a good environment for that.

Completely agree, awesome for the kid but lets be realistic we wont know there plans for him for another year or so realistically.

Best case, this season with the reserves, next season loaned out to a 2. Bundesliga team or something along those lines

Doubt it, even if Singh was right in first team contention he wouldn't be playing the same role as Bale - Bale would be wider and Singh would be more of a no10 surely.

Also think Bale will go to China or maybe PSG or something, but doesn't seem like the sort of player Bayern would buy at this stage.

If this was a cynical ploy to sell Bayern Shirts in India I'd assume they'd sign someone who is, you know, Indian not a New Zealander??

Yeah, I wonder the same.

Did Ireland sell more Tony Cascarino shirts in Italy back in the day?

Ehh there are already a fair few people on Twitter already 'claiming' him as Indian, even after they acknowledge he's Kiwi. Would be short-sighted to say there won't be a spike in Bayern shirts selling in the sub-continent now

Was popular when AWs went to India.

That would be awesome if Indians started following him too
