I think it would be a great move. But I would say that as I am a fan of "Der Club". Nürnberg only just escaped the drop to the 3. Liga, so will be looking to rebuild - it could exciting times for the once great club.

Something strange is going on as I have three overseas clubs - Burnley, FC Bayern and 1FC Nürnberg (I have German nationality certificated in a town near Nürnberg, and rellies in München, so Bayern is my 'European' club).

I am not an Agent.

I can't read German. How certain is this?

If it is I think a great move

Bild is reporting it now, they are a big paper so probably a very high chance.

Yes, BILD is bad. They constantly break journalistic rules and stier up shark.

Yeah, I meant more that it's not a tin pot fan blog. They were the ones who first reported he was in Germany to sign as well.

Damn, Nurnerg survived relegation this year thanks to a 96th minute goal in the relegation playoff which saw them draw the tie and go through on away goals. What an intense finish!

That's heartbreak for Ingolstadt.

They so nearly grabbed an automatic promotion spot to Liga 2. Missing out only by a point on finishing 3rd, and the 2nd automatic spot in Liga 3 (won by Singh's BM II who couldn't be promoted).

Then to lose the prorel playoff series like that. Ouch!

A full strength Bayern (sans Sané) host Chelsea in their 2nd leg UCL tie (3-0 up from the first leg in London) at the Allianz.

Round of 16. Barca or Napoli in the quarters.

Presume Sarpreet is in the stands, or is he already down the road training in Nürnberg? Liga 2 kicks off again 18th Sept.

I don't know much about the 2.Bundesliga but I think this move could be good. He's in the second division among seasoned pros unlike the third one (which is still competitive but where a lot of development takes place).
His new team will need either recruit well to avoid risking the drop again. If that doesn't happen he's likely to be the best player in the team anyway which will make him stand out...the main thing is that he gets a lot of game time and the coach, who clearly believes in him, doesn't get the sack 5 games in!

Canter for Bayern. 4-1 win in the 2nd leg (7-1 on aggregate).

UCL favourites now?

From now on is knockout football as a tourney in Portugal over the next few weeks, to find a winner.

Next week Barca in the quarters.

Been a lot of change at Nürnberg. They are serious about making a challenge and not going through the disappointments of last season. New young coach in - was assistant at Leipzig & and also brought in Dieter Hecking (ex-coach who did great things in past) as sporting Director.
Sure things could go wrong, but very positive signs, and not just resting on laurels of being a ‘big’ club with great traditions.

Not much of a break between seasons! Is that Covid related or just how they do things over there?

The break between seasons in the bundesliga (82 days) is way longer than the break between seasons in the premier league (48 days).

Bayern carving up Barca in the UCL.

Sarpreet gets a winner’s medal if they go all the way? He got on in a group game didn’t he.

Edit

Oops Suárez pulls one back, to 2-4.

Davies with a great assist to kill it. 5-2

Finished an 8-2 rout. Wow. Ruthless. Something like 19 competitive match wins on the trot now for Bayern. Must be awesome for Singh to be around a playing group like that day in, day out, even if yes he is down the road at Nurnberg now.

Bayern are an absolute powerhouse. There bench is incredible strong. Singh will need to get over some amazing footballers to play regularly in the first team. But they obviously see enough in him, so he might just make it. Maybe as Mullers replacement one day

Niche Cahe's take on how Singh maybe utilised at Nürnberg.

"That’s life for Saddy these days, talking it up with the Nurnies while his buddies at Bayern Munich handed down a legendary thrashing of Barcelona in the Champions League quarters. Singh probably won’t get a winners’ medal if Bayern go on and win that thing – the way it works is UEFA give out a flat sum of 40 medals to the triumphant team to disperse at their will and seeing as Singh never even made a matchday squad in the UCL chances are once you go through those who did and chuck in a few key staff he won’t get there and tbh nor should he. But he’s having a good old time at Nürnberg for now, playing in two friendlies already for the club.

Christian Fr\u00FCchtl and Sarpreet Singh made their debut for 1. FC N\u00FCrnberg in a friendly match against Regensburg today [Nord Bayern: “The number eight, rotated by 90 degrees, the symbol of infinity, stands in football for technical elegance, for wit and creativity, for light-footedness. Lothar Matthäus once wore it, Andres Iniesta too. And in Nuremberg? From now on that number adorns the jersey of a gifted person. Underneath the red and black striped home shirt, the name "Singh" is emblazoned in white letters.”

Not much point to that other than the flowery language. That article came up on a google search is all, though it does explain the role that the club are wanting from him – basically he’s needed to supply the killer ball. Not necessarily the goal or even the assist but the pass which maybe leads to the assist by hitting the overlapping runner or feeding the striker’s feet or whatever. We got a few glimpses of that in these first two friendlies. He played the pass that led to the assist in a 1-0 win over SSV Jahn Regensburg in the first one, nearly set up a goal winning the ball high up in the second. Looked like a playmaking role as an advanced central midfielder... which all suggests he should be a key player for these fellas this season. Exciting."

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/world-game/300085956/champions-league-how-bayern-munichs-revolution-created-europes-best-team

Some interesting money stats.

In fairness to Bayern, they have a reputation for recruiting smartly – not least in encouraging players, such as Goretzka and, famously, Lewandowski, to run down their contracts at their previous clubs and sign for "free". And even though they paid up to £55 million (NZ$110 million) for Sane, it is less than half the fee City demanded last season.

It means the 11 who started against Barcelona cost around £86 million (NZ$172 million) – £56 million (NZ$112 million) less than Barca paid for Phillipe Coutinho, who is on loan at Bayern, and who came off the bench to score twice.

With an annual income of £670 million, Bayern have a dominance in their bargaining power that they have exploited. When they harness that power with good recruitment and coaching, it will always make them one of Europe's most formidable teams.

Bayern into UCL final verus PSG.

Gnabry with a double in a 3-0 win over Lyon.

Treble is on for the German club, though apparently Neymar & co looked good in their semi.

According to the club website Nürnberg have friendlies coming up on the 22nd of August (opponent TBD), 29th of August (vs Türkgücü Munich) and 5th of September (opponent TBD). They then have a cup tie against Leipzig on the 12th of September. Leipzig will be very tough but they have only just finished their season yesterday so could perhaps field a weakened side?

Played 61 minutes in a friendly vs Hoffenheim. Nürnberg won 5-2 which seems pretty good given that Hoffenheim are playing in the Europa league this season.

Played pretty well too from what I saw. Not exceptional, but that's to be expected given he's just arrived with the team. Looking forward to see what he can produce this season, it seems like a standard that he can excel at for sure.

Looks like he played 1st half for Nürnberg in a 2-1 win over Liga 3 side Türkgücü-Ataspor in another pre season friendly.

For what it's worth Nürnberg up 1-0 at HT.
