Kicking out racism is something that, imo, will never happen.
It was good to see Kevin-Prince Boateng walk off of the pitch the other day against Pro Patria as this does make some kind of statement. However I do wonder if he would have felt quite the same had it not of been a friendly match and instead a Champions League game, for example.
Only thing that works is to kick people out of the leagues that they love. Take England in the 80's, the English FA actually banned their own teams from playing in Europe/Oversees. This did have the desired effect and violence at UK games is now very much a thing of the past when comparing it to days gone by. Seeing such things at a UK game is now very much frowned upon. Again, I wonder if they would dare do this today with how much money is involved.... especially where the English FA is concerned and not just the football clubs that they represent. Fact is no one is concerned so long as people keep buying the shirts, tickets and subscribe to watch the game on TV. It's a shame, as I'd not like to sit next to someone who was being racist at a football match, it's just not the place for it.
But question for me is how far is too far? Do you start walking off of the football pitch because someone said something about your mother, your sexual preference, your colour or where you were born. I'd not like it if those things were happening to me, but again I don't feel I'd walk off of the pitch because of it. Besides, those supporters sure do know how to get a rise from Kevin-Prince Boateng now... so I would imagine the opposition supporters will be aiming all chants at him from now on... especially derby games.

Edit: and if you changed racist to sexist I would say its also a very valid comment. He is basically saying speak to others to find out instead of taking 1 persons comments as fact.

Nah. The burden of proof is on Anelka to show that Houlier is racist. Saying that you have only once seen a black man turn red faced is not racist. It may have been the first time he saw a black man turn red faced. Given we have 0 context here to those comments, can we draw any conclusion?

To be fair he didn't say I'm not racist just because he worked with them, he said to ask them.
I don't think its unreasonable to ask people to ask more than 1 person before drawing a total conclusion about him.
