There is a great football documentary on Netflix it is called les bleus une autre histoire de france (The blues another story of france). It covers the French National football team from 1996 to 2016).  Don't worry it is subtitled on Netflix, below is the trailer.

Recently watched both "Becoming Zlatan" and "Trainer!" which is a German doco focusing on three coaches in the 2nd and 3rd tier in Germany - they are both worth a watch!

EDIT: There used to be another doco on Netflix which was about the American Samoan football team.

"Next Goal Wins" about the American Samoan team is excellent

"Game of their Lives" about the North Korean team of 1966 is fascinating

"Hillsborough", directed by Dan Gordon, is outstanding

"Og Det Var Danmark", about the Danish side 1984-92 is absolutely brilliant

"The Crazy Gang" about Wimbledon, is worth a look

"The Two Escobars" from ESPN is great, and some of the shorter 30 for 30s, such as "The Opposition" and "Magico" are also great.

And "82 And All That", haha :)

Has anyone seen "The mouse that scored a goal" (aka "Kicks for the crown") a doco about the Liechtenstein team trying to quality for the EURO finals?
There's a trailer on youtube, but can't find the doco anywhere...

Interesting doco airing on Australian TV tonight, about craziness of Indonesian football. 70 odd deaths in last 20 years or something.

Is actually Australia's closest neighbour, but apart from Bali, most Aussies know fudge all about Indonesia.

oohh PNG would be interesting, they had that breakaway league and its where David "Oceania baked beans" Chung was from, always wanted to find out more about what went on there

does the ABC have an on demand service? (suppose I'll have to use a VPN to see it)

It’s a doco on the Indonesian League. Leggy meant PNG is the closest country to Oz.

But Indo ain’t that far off the northern tip either, just not much in the average Aussie’s conscious.

Try the above link.

Definitely worth a look. Could have been interesting for the Newcastle boys, if they had had to play away against Persija in the ACL!!

Sorry to thread hijack but didn't wanna make a new thread for this. Some people on Twitter I know have put together a 20 min documentary about women's football in Aussie and what it means to them in the lead up to the World Cup. So thought I would share it here.

Looks Michael Calvin has made a film around the themes of his recent book 'State of play'. It's being shown on by sport in the UK, following the Europa and Champions League finals.

Fantastic episode on Netflix documentary series 'losers' about Torquay United staying up in 87. Episode 2. A great story with some right characters.
