In terms of stickied threads either a background colour or some form of spacial separation might work

Previewing your post sometimes shows you a post from another user. In this case, mikecj is seeing a post from AllWhites82 when he clicks preview.

Actually all the time.

(not AllWhites82's post - that's just sometimes)

I'm just going to chip in here that Wellnik has been putting in epic hours on this site over the last month or more. So, while you should keep the feedback rolling in, let's all remember that a huge amount of work has already been done.

Thanks :)
Everyone's been pretty good so far - I like the positive suggestions. I'm gonna focus on the "low hanging fruit" first off - stuff that's low effort/high reward. We won't get to everything sadly, but we can fix a few things :)

Easy one for you then. The post # (ie this will be #127) link misses off what page the post is on, so throws you to page one.

Hey team, I keep seeing the site go offline with a 503 error at various times, this morning it was about 9.30ish..? I wasn't logged in, just stalking, using Chrome on a Windows 7 machine.

I'm just letting you know every time you guys change things around I lose my login and it won't accept my password.

Therefore I have to register again under another name.

Could someone please tell me why this happens???????

Dunno why that would be. My same login now has worked since we upgraded the forums a few months ago. Prior to that it was a clusterfuck and I chewed through a few password resets.

Are you able to use the "Forgot Password" function to get your old password back? Can you tell me what browser you're using?

There's some weird shit goin' down on this forum... I was just on the the Carlos Hernandez thread.. I wanted to qoute Doloras but her comment had no qoute or reply button on it! All the other posts had reply and qoute buttons. But on a post by Azevo on the same page I could see the edit button! Which when I clicked it took me back to the first page of the thread! I mean.. I'm drinkin' some good shit, but really...

I'm seeing extra edit buttons on other people's posts everywhere! Is it too late to take this wine (whine) back?

They don't allow you to edit the other persons post, it is just a error in the way the page is output I guess.

In the last week or so, I find the site briefly stops working for me... like if I leave it idle for a few minutes, then click on a thread or an article or something, nothing happens. If I shut down the browsing session, give it 60 seconds or so, then re-open, it's fine again. Happens at home and work (Chrome on both computers).

Has anyone else noticed this or am I crazy?

Yep, known issue. You should just be able to hit refresh if nothing happens when you click a link though instead of having to close the browser though, can you give this a try next time?

Hey everyone,

I've just deployed a bunch of speed and other fixes today. As part of that and a snappier server setup I've actually managed to remove a lot of the caching that I kinda just chucked in at the last minute, which (hopefully) means some of the weirder bugs (Edit buttons etc) should be squished.

In other good news, I *finally* tracked down the thing that was causing the "new posts link goes to a blank page" bug and I blasted that one with Extreme Fucking Prejudice, so enjoy your links actually, you know, working from now on!

More to come...
