Meh. The fourth German team won't do any better than the fourth Italian team.

Guess Italy is paying the price for not taking UEFA Cup/Europa League seriously over the past few seasons.

Here's a wacky idea. How about, in a league called the 'champions league', one team (the 'champions') from each league qualify?

Wouldn't always be the case Michael. Would be more even spread than it is now. Back to the good old days of the European Cup, no seedings, straight knockout, one from each country.

And the better leagues (Prem, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue Un etc) can enter their Cup winner as well.

Or they could enter this other competition, called (and i'm going out on a limb here) the 'cup winners cup'?

Where will the spot go?  Will it be played off for by a load of teams from lower leagues or be given as an extra to another country?
